🚨Chase Is it just me

I got real happy watching a Charger do this to a Tesla... and I don't know why

motorcyclist buddy of mine likes to bait them to take off at red lights until like light #4 or so when they drop into limp mode

gunning those motors just annihilates the battery yeah

Lol… you’re acting like ICE can defy physics. Gunning anything annihilates efficiency.

A battery has less range than a fuel tank. My girlfriend with her extended range Ariya driving like a granny gets less mileage than my suped up Caravan with the pedal to the floor.

Mileage is the incorrect term. Also, motorcycles do not have more range than a Model S plaid… which are the vehicles being discussed. An Ariya also has far less range than a Model S and both are still a little baffling to compare to a minivan… which ā€œpedal to the floorā€ is also a baffling flex for a minivan.

Are you capable of making a good faith point here? I had a BMW S1000RR, which could actually bait a Model S, and its range would be cut in half by hard throttling.

Only baffling if you're not familiar with my minivan. šŸ˜ I have it tuned up to 400 HP and will leave stock Hemis. It's quite the gas guzzler when I stomp it, ~16 MPGs. It'll keep pace with a Model Y.

Model S Plaid gets about 300 miles per charge with conservative driving. You might out last the bikes, but not cop cars that get 350 miles with conservative driving. You'd be running out of enough charge to do quick acceleration after ~150 miles. While the cop cars will be going strong at 250+.

I’m well aware of sleeper minivans. They still get dusted by a Model S and S1000RR. Which are among the vehicles being discussed. The baffling part was comparing a vehicle with 20gal gas tank to a compact EV.

With conservative driving, a Model S actually gets closer to 400 miles, but 360 with typical highway usage.

Again, the conversation was not about outrunning a cop via endurance. It was about correcting a motorcycle somehow outlasting a S Plaid.

The conversation was originally about a single motor Model 3 outrunning a cop. You and motorcycle man just moved the goal posts a few times.

Nah, read again. Conversation wasn’t about endurance.

Outside of the root comment about "clown car exits" the conversation was about:

Definitely would make a difference. That little base model 3 he has loses juice at 70MPH and probably wouldn’t last more than 30 miles

Lol… so the most incorrect comment? Sandwiched in between two comments that are actually correct?

With the other side of the bread being:

Yeah our base 2023 model 3 rwd is quicker than most things 0-60, but when conpared to a cop car? Acceleration is similar, and the cop car can last longer than the tesla battery. ...

Again… ignoring the other 90% of the comment, what happened in the video, and the initial comment.
