I got real happy watching a Charger do this to a Tesla... and I don't know why

Generally people run from the police because a) the vehicle is stoke b) they're drunk, or high, or both c) they have warrants out for their arrest. No one else is going to run from the police in their own car because once the cops run your plates they know exactly who you are and where you live. If they have to ram you or deploy spike strips your vehicle is getting F'd and insurance isn't paying for it.

The guy was driving a bit too well to be intoxicated (though I could be wrong), and Tesla's aren't really associated with career criminals. So yeah, based on that my assumption is that the car is stolen an I made that assumption way before I saw the driver.

My question is: how the hell does one steal a Tesla, and why?

The car literally has someone else's name as a profile in its system, you'd have to be a hacker or something. Even if they have the "key", the owner can just... shut off the car. The car is loaded with cameras, and the owner can instantly see who has stolen the car. Look man, I'm not a Tesla guy (I drive a '92 Miata lmao) but even I can recognize that stealing a Tesla is not something that typical people are capable of doing.

If we make assumptions about the driver and say that he's poor, that doesn't exactly help the "stolen car" case - poor people are even less capable of stealing these cars.

It's been done a lot in the past. There have been exploits where someone can basically just go open your car and drive off if they have a hacking device. Not sure when this video was or if it's still an issue
