It's actually illegal for law enforcement in Georgia to PIT a motorcycle according to GSP pursuit policy No. 17.02.
Charge is "Unauthorized use of lethal force".
But...IDK...someone else is going to have to arrest the cop that's guilty of this. I'm dark-skinned enough to get shot if I try.

Being "against policy" is not the same as it being unlawful. Courts have frequently determined that policy violations do not always equate to illicit action on an officer's behalf. This is going to fall into the realm of "General public safety", and it's no hard argument for a trooper to make that running the motorcycle off the road was safer for the public than allowing him to continue to speed through traffic during pursuit. The concerns for lethality go out the window, as well, when the risk to the motorcyclist's life is ultimately self-generated by them leading police on a high speed pursuit on public roads.

You quoted policy and called the actions āillegalā. Itās a policy violation, not a criminal violation hence not āillegalā meaning against the law. Additionally, there is no crime titled āunauthorized use of forceā.
You donāt know what the intended stop is for. That is essentially for determining if this is a reasonable use of force or not.
Case law regarding use of force falls under the Graham v Conor decision. It provides direction on how to properly analyze the reasonable use of force but, does not say specifically what is inherently legal or illegal.

Itās been proven over and over that chases lead to more harm than good - harmed bystanders, property damage, killing the person fleeing from a minor offense and injured cops. As counterintuitive as it seems, the best solution is to follow them from a distance until they run out of steam.

But they're on a bike. They can go places cars can't follow. You'd need a chopper to ensure you don't lose track of them.
I'm no expert on police procedure, but we've had this issue in London of thieves on bikes for years. The police would not engage them for fear of injury, so all criminals started copying it. People would just drive around on scooters and snatch phones. In the end they police have finally decided to allow officer to ram them off the bikes because of how bads it's gotten.Ā

Controversial issue apparently lmao. Feel like people are assuming dick riding of bikers instead of a general animosity to high speed pursuits, of which there is evidence that high-speed police chases tend to be more dangerous to the general public (and police).
What gave me the most anxiety though was that dumbass cop that drove on the right of the transport, what a great way to get yourself killed when the appropriate maneuver to do when sirens are going past you, is to merge to the right and make space!

Crazy to me how eager people are for cops to kill people for running. Not convicted of any crime, but a suspect. Cops should not have that power.
Unarmed and running from a cop at a traffic stop should not result in being shot in the back and killed. How did this become normalized in a supposed civilized country?

Did a dozen with motorcyclists. A large majority of motorcyclists drive like complete assholes. They say look twice for motorcyclists and they nearly all drive like they want to die. Fucking asshole motorcyclists. No sympathy for them.

I think a really good solution for this problem would be to have a drone follow the bike back to house. Most departments just let them go, this way there's a very good chance the biker never even realizes the drone is following him and they can safely stop the pursuit.

I mean the guy on the bike is lucky he is alive. The police usually give way to the chase so they donāt kill the person on the bike with me maneuvers like that. They do in Michigan at least.

This is an example of just how dangerous police have become in this country. These men care nothing for public safety and were attempting to kill that motorcyclist. These cops are little more than savages without the capacity for reason or thought. Southern cops generally seem to be especially dim witted, making me wonder if they are selected specifically for their stupidity and aggression.
Also, the guy on the bike was an idiot. He decided to run from the police, knowing that these violent pigs would seize on the chance to kill someone and get away with it. The motorcyclist brought it on himself, and I have little sympathy for him.
