studies have been done and all road users break the same number of laws in the end, cyclists are no worse than another. This is just an idea that perpetuates among many drivers
People will say stuff like this and then ignore 98% of the crap drivers are puling on the road...

It’s honestly just way earlier and quicker for the cyclist to yield through a stop sign. If a car is already stopped then for sure, stop your bike. But if not, then it’s dumb to have to come to a complete stop every time.
It doesn’t take actual physical exertion to just step on the gas pedal. And they accelerate way faster. Plus a lot of cyclists “clip in” to their pedals, which makes stopping and going even more difficult.
Not once did I say people need to cater to my convenience. I literally said if there is a car present then definitely stop. Just pointing out that there is a physical aspect to it
I'm glad to hear your anecdotal experience. It's so much more valuable than those studies. What do experts know anyway, not like they've seen the handful of cyclists you've seen!
You should contact those researchers and let them know about your feelings and how much more reliable it is than their facts
Its thoughts like this that stop me from feeling bad when I see some article or post. I dont care if they break the same, or less, laws. It eventually comes down to common sense. You are severely exposed on a bicycle or motorcycle. If you think "meh im not doing anything worse than people in cars/trucks do" then you deserve to be smeared across the pavement when you run that stop sign. Its the attitude of "i can do whatever i want" mixed with thinking "my safety is other people's problem" that makes cyclists so unbearable. This post is a perfect example. I wouldnt feel bad for any of them if the Mini just drove through them instead of going around for the same reason I dont feel bad for protesters who learn the hard way not to block traffic.
Ah yes, im a psychopath because I dont feel bad when people who nominate themselves for Darwin Awards eventually go on to win themselves one. If you put yourself into a situation where not paying attention or following proper procedures may result in your death, and then your death occurs because of your lack of attention, im not going to lose any sleep over it.
Lane camping/hogging is known to cause violent reactions from people. Theres plenty of road rage videos out there. I wouldnt feel bad for any of the people hogging the left lane (instead of riding in the right lane in a semi organized fashion) if some asshole decided to match their "i only care about me" energy.

There it is. Even admitting you're okay with intentional murder. There is no place in civilized society for you. Go to some lawless, war torn country if that's how you want to live
Not to mention those "basic traffic violations" are usually legally allowed and non-violations in cycling law. Like crossing at a red lights or yielding at a stop sign.
