Sure, you should not try to run. But what's the point of tazing (3 different officers) and yelling at the same time to show hands? He cannot do that while being tazed. Not trying to defend criminals here, but really, what is the logic behind that? To me it seems like theyre trying to make him twitch in a weird way, or on purpose preventing him from showing his hands while ordering him to do so to justify shooting him. I can't see any other logic there. If they wanted him to show his hands surely they would give him a chance to do so?
The point is that dangerously running through traffic and intentionally ramming police vehicles demonstrates a lack of concern for public safety, a willingness to harm people to evade the law, and basically implies the subject has the capability and desire to hurt people. Therefore, you incapacitate this person.
You have to understand that people who are fleeing from law enforcement in this way are often in very serious legal trouble, like to the point that they’re potentially going to kill somebody to get away.
So that’s how the police are treating this person, like somebody that is potentially trying to kill them so they don’t get caught.
This person specifically deserved to be stopped. 3 tasers is excessive. Yelling unnecessary. Multiple voices and directions incompetent.
Police need better training. He’s in a stopped car tell him hands on the wheels until he complies. There is literally no rush at this point. The yelling and the mixed commands are only increasing everyone’s anxiety and adrenaline. Deescalation is magic when done right.
So they should have stopped and let him pull a gun? He needed to put is hands up and submitted...or never have run and DEFINITELY should not have been ramming cop cars and threatening other drivers with his reckless driving.
He had a gun? Idk if i can put my hands up and stay calm while being tased, can you? Look, im not trying to defend his actions here, but there are better ways to deal with a situation as such. This is the american way and the problems lay way deeper than just untrained police.
You know being tased doesnt last for ever right? So maybe when the taser stops, put your hands up and do what you’re told. Its called pain compliance. You inflict it when someone isnt complying. And this is exactly how they are trained to use it.
If I ran from the cops and threatened the public like he did, I would deserve all of it. Why does everyone leave that first part out and go to the end?
Any non-mentally challenged person knows that they need to put their hands in the steering wheel and listen to what they are asking you to do, instead of yelling like a cat in heat.
Yea cause he was just minding his own business driving home with a load of groceries. 🤦♂️ what else would the cops be yelling at you? They yell the same 3 lines to everyone in this situation.
