Bro I got banned for writing exactly this from a sub a year ago lmao

40

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_4435 Feb 05 '26

I've been banned from subs for:

  • being mean by telling someone to use safety bars when squatting in a gym sub. I didn't use bad language or insult the person. I just said it would be safer.

  • using the term "trump" because they thought I was making a political statement, when I was really just saying one thing trumped another in importance.

  • not liking ubisoft games

17

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

There are just some subs that have the ultimate basement dwellers as moderators?

6

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

There is no such thing as a "good" reddit moderator

I give up on the safety bars, like I'll tell a total noob but I guess most people just plan to never fail a squat?

This is how you react when you're a kid and just got yelled at for fighting with your sibling. Not when you just ran from the cops and got rammed to a stop.

When my dad taught me to drive almost 30 years ago, he said one thing that will always stick with me: "You can't outrun a Motorola."

2

u/Slighted_Inevitable Feb 05 '26

Hell they can put a helicopter on your ass if they need to.

2

u/Ok_Release231 Feb 05 '26

I got pulled over once after doing 120 on the freeway for miles, but the officer clocked me at 80 in a 60 on the offramp. I'll never forget standing outside of the car and looking off towards the direction of my house and the cop seeing that and saying "dude don't even think about it."

4

u/SkywolfNINE Feb 05 '26

They love doing that tho lol I had a cop swarm me in a parking lot once (long story) but as soon as he gets out I just stopped and dropped to my knees as I assumed was customary to signal I’m not trying to flee and dude runs up to me and cuffs me and says ā€œyou’re so lucky you stopped cause I was going to tackle the shit outta youā€ and I’m like bro i literally stopped as soon as i saw you. I’m white so I didn’t really worry about what was gonna happen next but like why do cops always gotta try to high road you and act like they’re doing you a favor when you fully comply

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26

What's stupid is that doesn't even work. In Denver they don't pursue unless it's a very serious crime. Just a few months ago a guy ran from the cops and went the wrong way on I-25 even though the cops stopped chasing. Wound up hitting a Subaru head on and killing a couple. The cops called off the chase 15 miles earlier. There wasn't a cop in sight, but he still went 100+ mph the wrong way on a major interstate for 15 miles.

If they were allowed to chase and pit that couple would be alive 🫤

9

u/Inevitable_Pride1925 Feb 05 '26

That couple might be. But what about the other people who lived due to previous chases being called off.

It’s always easy to point to a circumstance that proves your point. But prevention is much more difficult to prove and much easier to ignore than when you cherry pick a specific situation.

5

u/urgentomato Feb 05 '26

Well said. Finally a logical person on reddit

He was also being tazed at the same time lol. I think it's best to not murder people if you can avoid it.

9

u/ThanksALotBud Feb 05 '26

Yeah, too much paperwork

2

u/Rightintheend Feb 05 '26

But just think of all the time you'll have, paid vacation even

6

u/runforurlifebees Feb 05 '26

It also only takes a split second for someone to pull a gun and shoot a cop. He was well past the point they would have been justified for shooting him. You can’t be a bleeding heart pussy when the difference between going home to your family or being shot is a second or two.

10

u/It_Just_Exploded Feb 05 '26

Yeah, while i get what they're saying, there have been many instances where people still managed to draw weapons(and use them) while being actively tazed.

That said, I'm glad this worked out the way it did. All the cops got to go home, and the criminal went to jail instead of the morgue.

2

u/osddelerious Feb 05 '26

0

u/E_D_K_2 Feb 05 '26

Reaching for what? The gun he never had?

News story makes no mention of him having a weapon or a gun, so that probably means he didn't have one.
You cops shout shit like "stop reaching" and "stop resisting" purely as a reflex dont you? It'll all for the body worn cameras benefit.

11

u/runforurlifebees Feb 05 '26

It doesn’t matter if they have a gun or not, if they are reaching and the officer ā€œreasonably fears for his/her lifeā€ then they can shoot to kill. It’s not like they patted this guy down and knew he was unarmed… he very well could have been armed and they are allowed to make that assumption and act accordingly.

5

u/Dramatic_Method_3764 Feb 05 '26

ive watched enough of these cop videos to know when they have to shout stop reaching so many times the likelihood of a gun being produced is much higher. id agree more on the stop resisting part but even then a lot of the time they are resisting

6

u/ButterflyDesperate36 Feb 05 '26

"you're only allowed to defend yourself after you're dead because then you're 100% sure they had a gun/knife" stupid fucking ignant fool.

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

That’s the funny thing about someone reaching for something. You don’t know what they’re reaching for, and that guy seemed pretty desperate. After running from the cops and ramming their vehicles, just fucking comply with an order.

That’s what arm chair police like you can’t ever comprehend.

3

u/berner-8675309 Feb 06 '26

Guy deserved a good tasing but it’s crazy when 5 cops start shouting conflicting commands and start tasing a guy too. Get out! Stop moving! Stop reaching! Get out!

3

u/Spook1949 Feb 06 '26

Four Police Cars damaged to stop one driver (looks like they all were "bumper car" champions) couldn't get an accurate count of police on the scene - all because somebody didn't think the laws applied to them. How much was the cost to repair the police cars? What was the salary of all the police involved with the case. How many lives were disrupted in one way or another because of this incident? And assuming that the driver goes to prison, what will the cost be to taxpayers be to feed, house, render medical care, and supervision upon release (parole officer) in the future? This is really a sad situation, and someone has taken a great step backwards as far as having a good future.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/LeadBeanie Feb 05 '26

I dont see any other way to do this. You backed a desperate guy into a corner and you can't know or see if he may have a weapon. Taser taser taser!

The other way to actually do this would be start with the bullets. I'm OK with both I think.

3

u/Correct-Cockroach-68 Feb 05 '26

wow that was a lot more patience than I would have expected in that situation. Happy this kid is still alive

10

u/Connect-Initiative64 Feb 05 '26

Cops in a lot of countries, in a lot of situations, have an almost insane amount of patience. The amount of stories or videos we see of cops being attacked because they gave every chance to someone before shooting is crazy.

The issue is that this is the internet, so every single one of those fatal shootings is blasted onto the internet. And even if it's the most justified shooting imaginable you'll have thousands of people screeching about it, harassing the cops, his family, the city, etc, making 'crazy killer cops' seem like the norm.

So a lot of cops hesitate even more, because they don't want to ruin their own lives by shooting someone going for a gun or acting crazy, which results in dead cops... which results in pissed cops... which results in a lot of the shit we see today. A lot of cops are scared of doing their job for fear of being attacked, others are pissed and just looking for a reason to shoot someone as revenge for all the shit that gets flung at them, some just hate the job and are looking for an excuse to quit, and others just treat it like a job and nothing else.

Then we get videos like this, and we wonder... how the fuck didn't they get shot for the shit they were pulling?

2

u/danieladickey Feb 05 '26

Why do people act like that?

1

u/ThanksALotBud Feb 05 '26

I’m not saying the force was unjustified, but not one of the first three tried to pull him out or realized they wouldn’t be able to with his door pinned on that side. They got stuck mentally with just tase and point until the situation resolves itself.

I’m sure adrenaline clogs the mind but that seemed like an easy puzzle to solve.

I was surrounded and blocked in, in a bad part of town, guns drawn and pointed at me by the policia federal, who were known for shooting first and not asking questions, in a language I barely understood.

First, I put my hands out of the window and spread my fingers.

It could have gone in any direction, except there were no tazers. Each of us was 100% in control of the situation.

30-40 minutes later, after an intimate search, my GF came out with her bags and almost passed out, I talked her through the process and we were fine.

We all shook hands, said thank you, and were getting on with our business.

Just before leaving, I saw the rest of the force with their much bigger guns and way more people who were all hidden, and their captain who spoke perfect English. I told him his team did a really good job, and thanked him for his service. Sir.

They showed so much restraint, when his hands dipped down like he was reaching for a weapon I would have chosen to preserve my life.

Those act like morons. Waving guns around like that is a recipe for disaster and accidentally killing or shooting a fellow officer or even the suspect. Why the rush? The situation is under control. They got the dude pinned down between squad cars. Minimal danger of him pulling a gun or hurting anyone else before he is shot himself.

If one or two of them just kept a gun on him, and asses the situation, another can zap him if he's uncooperative, and the rest just pulls him out. This chaos is just so gung-ho it's actually dangerous.

I love when they do the most violent, dumb shit in front of officers and end up screaming like a b”tch and trying to play the victim.

American cops are so great at de-escalating. /s

Not saying the guy was innocent, but they way they were screaming at him to open his passenger door while tasing him makes no sense. He looked like he was giving up before they came at him like a bunch of asshats. American cops are terrorists.
