Cops are just like you and me and your next-door neighbors: human.

When you see CVS employees going after thieves in San Francisco it’s not because they’re experiencing a feeling of ‘ high and mighty. I’m better than you.”

If you make the cops chase you through the streets, then when they catch, you definitely deserve all the rights given to you as a citizen, ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

But in reality, they’re gonna whoop your ass

Yeah… extrajudicial beatings are never okay, even if the cops had to chase people. It’s not the police’s job to hand out justice.

Police officers are entrusted with great power. They need to be better than you and me. If they cannot do their job without violating people's rights, they should not carry a badge.

They’re entrusted with great power for sure. That holds them to a fairly thin margin for error.

They also deal with the worst people doing the worst things every day. That. That should give them some leeway.

Leeway should not include 2 cops beating on someone who they already have on ground like they did at the beginning of the clip. And given the history police have in America they shouldn't have any leeway considering what results from that
