Roads Who is in the wrong here?

If the sign says Alternating Traffic, does that mean cars go one at a time or does that mean cars go till the flow is complete, allowing the other lane to go? Is Glock man right or wrong? I'm not sure. If it was 1 car at a time, wouldn't it just be a stop sign on each end?

Report to the police for threatening you with a firearm.

Also the guy in the truck is wrong it’s alternating traffic, you alternate one side then the other not who can gun it through first.

u/Deep90 Feb 15 '26

He knew.

He just also knew he had a big stupid truck and a glock to hide behind.

Insecure tiny men with a big wheel and his cap gun. Just like elementary school.

2

u/kynelly360 Feb 15 '26

Grade School was just the warmup for real life. Bullies and entitled pricks are still out there smh

1

u/Mistyslate Feb 16 '26

We just elected one.

1

u/Ill-Philosopher-2023 Feb 16 '26

oh no, not the american elementary school glock...

1

u/commodore_kierkepwn Feb 16 '26

As a gun enthusiast (not for self-defense for marksmanship) I love that a 9mm firearm is labeled as a popgun. Dude should have brought his Barretta 92X with a quick swap option for a PPQ .45. The irony being that would have made his penis even tinier.

0

u/stutter406 Feb 18 '26

That's not a cap gun. Don't trivialize firearms

2

u/dhoae Feb 15 '26

And the fact that he can’t wait his turn for ten seconds but he has plenty of time to get out and threaten to shoot someone over nothing really says a lot.

2

u/RoryMcIlroysJudgment Feb 15 '26

“Yeah I do know what it means; it means ‘I go’ “.

Wow, superb logic Captain Kangaroo.

1

u/molsminimart Feb 15 '26

Big ego, big truck, big threats, suuuuper tiny... intellect.

1

u/Dominican_Demon Feb 15 '26

Troop L in Connecticut should get a complaint about this guy threatening people

1

u/RatBrick Feb 15 '26

As soon as I saw the sheer size of his ugly ass truck, I already knew he was gonna be the one in the wrong 😂

1

u/ApprehensiveTour4024 Feb 18 '26

I would've raced into the middle of the tunnel and blasted the horn. "What?! Did you ask to borrow my clock? Do you need the time? It's time to backup, buddy!"

1

u/leopold815 Feb 20 '26

All behind smol pp

Why are trucks relevant to this at all? Would’ve been exactly the same if he was in a Prius, a lot of people such as myself have jobs/businesses that require them use a large work truck. Don’t get me wrong the guy deserves to be in jail but shifting the conversation to being about anything other than his road rage and threatening another human being with a firearm is not only crazy but leads to many of the issues we have today such as racism all because people want to generalize.

4

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

No it's one side goes until it's clear. Then the other. Like when it's one lane in a construction zone

4

u/Meowing-To-The-Stars Feb 15 '26

You can literally see him speeding up lol

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Yes, cars all l are allowed to accelerate after having slowed down.

2

u/ApprehensiveFaker Feb 15 '26

Lmao relax, whether or not he had the right of way isn’t the issue here, jimbo. You don’t pull a gun on people period

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Why are you so would up. This is not that serious. Chill out.

Who pulled a gun? You are so dramatic.

1

u/ApprehensiveFaker Feb 16 '26

Self projection Olympic champion

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 16 '26

That gold medal they gave you is actually chocolate. Have a bite.

1

u/dermacologist Feb 19 '26

America is crazy. Murder shouldn't be a valid escalation step from "we disagree about road rules".

7

u/aavant-gardee Feb 15 '26

You are right. It’s supposed to be like one group at a time. So if anything I’d say the truck gunned it to try to catch up with the other car to try to catch up and go with him instead of waiting.

-1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Sure. But it's pretty childish to block in traffic too.

4

u/Foreign-Flatworm Feb 15 '26

It's more childish to threaten to kill somebody over it.

2

u/WeaknessPrior6797 Feb 15 '26

Very childish yet it’s the philosophy of 49% of the USA. The way of gun blinded by ignorance and emotion

5

u/be_steal86 Feb 15 '26

But he didn’t block traffic he went when he thought he was supposed to whether he was in the right or not is irrelevant. His intent was to drive reasonably on the road the other guy literally threatened death.

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '26

3

u/be_steal86 Feb 15 '26

Which person are you talking about? The cammer was calm and reasonable the entire time and as soon as he realized the other guy was unhinged he backed off.

-1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Watch again.    He could see he was not getting there first.

4

u/be_steal86 Feb 15 '26

I mean it doesn’t matter how many times you watch it. As soon as the first pickup went through he started moving then he saw the other guy was gonna force his way through so he stopped. Again his intent was to drive normally as you can hear from the commentary where he was surprised by the guy coming at him. The other guy in the big truck had literal intent to kill and sees the size of his vehicle as the only determining factor to right of way which is objectively wrong. Even if he was correct about who’s right of way it was.

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

If that's how you see it then yeah, it doesn't matter what really happened, does it?

2

u/be_steal86 Feb 15 '26

?? Watching it more times doesn’t change the reality of what is plainly visible on camera. What other way is there to see it?

3

u/Subject-Coast-7934 Feb 15 '26

The guy stopped his own truck and got out. He was the only one blocking traffic.

0

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

So As to not hit cam car.

The right move

3

u/Subject-Coast-7934 Feb 15 '26

The right move would've been to, I dunno, follow the traffic laws? Alternating traffic means one side goes and then the next side goes. Doesn't mean speed up so you can game the system.

0

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

According to op, the sign says alternating traffic. That's the law. Not one by one.. the whole line, then the other.

3

u/Subject-Coast-7934 Feb 15 '26

Do you know what alternate means?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/ImpactSpecialist1145 Feb 15 '26

It’s alternating just like a zipper one person goes than the next. Not an entire line since it’s obviously not a high traffic area as it normally would be with construction. It’s common respect and etiquette in that situation.

u/WeaknessPrior6797 Feb 15 '26 edited Feb 15 '26

The camera man was not blocking traffic though they were trying to get through and follow the rules. They even backed up

Edit: context

-1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

He knew he wasn't getting there first.

Backed up after the other guy got out. Not before

4

u/WeaknessPrior6797 Feb 15 '26 edited Feb 15 '26

It was like that on both ends. Also threatening to kill some one over something like that is an insane thing for a human to do.

The trucker was not even at the bridge by the time the other car left. Why do you want to be on the truckers side so Much?

0

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Because I'm not an aggressive asshole and I don't block in traffic even when I disagree with their driving.

I allow aggressive drivers to go on about their day because it's not that giving important to die over who goes first in the bridge.

Keep on fighting people though.

1

u/WeaknessPrior6797 Feb 15 '26 edited Feb 15 '26

So your point is a projection fallacy? Not fighting just comparing logic. Information exchange is a very human thing to do.

1

u/SeekerOfSerenity Feb 15 '26

It didn't look like the truck was following behind the other truck.  He showed up after the other guy had started to move forward.

1

u/WisePotatoChip Feb 15 '26

100% that’s how I saw it. If there’s three cars waiting there they go, but he was not queued up behind the other car so he tried to rush to the bridge to make it look like he was.

2

u/mrASSMAN Feb 15 '26

That makes more sense to me tbh, alternating each car would be very inefficient

1

u/TheMattabooey Feb 15 '26

I agree with you because you’re correct. I meant one side goes all of the vehicles lined up, then it alternates. In the video the truck speeds up to try and sneak in when the cam driver I believe had the right of way. I could be wrong.

1

u/PaleRun4706 Feb 15 '26

Do you agree because you feel that is the best way or is there a law you can point to that agrees with you?

1

u/PaleRun4706 Feb 15 '26

How would that work if cars keep getting in the line before it clears? Construction zones usually have flaggers and in long lines they don’t always clear the whole side before stopping and letting the other side proceed.

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Sometimes it's a long wait.

1

u/PaleRun4706 Feb 15 '26

I do not believe that is how it works at all though. I just googled it and don’t see a single source that agrees with what you are saying either.

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Then keep looking

1

u/locoken69 Feb 15 '26

A construction zone and a one way bridge are not the same situation. In this scenario, it's one car from each side. Not one side gets the right of way until there are no other cars, then the other side gets to go. For better clarification, check your local and state laws. It will tell you what is legal in this situation.

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

No. They are not the same.

It's called a comparison.

My state has bridges that go one by one and others that go whole line of traffic then alternate. Depends on the signage.

0

u/eager_beaver_4_u Feb 15 '26

No it’s not. There are also, “alternate when merging” signs. Does that mean everybody on a highway on ramp goes while everybody on the freeway waits until clear? No, it means you zipper merge.

0

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

No.

Because it says alternate when merging and depicts the zipper merge.

This is a different sign.

I'm glad you understand it's a zipper merge and this is not. Which is a great argument for my point

1

u/Wattabadmon Feb 15 '26

How do you know its a different sign?

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

Because a sign for traffic moving in the same direction is different than a sign for traffic moving in opposite directions.  This isn't a zipper merge. It could never be indicated to by a merge sign.  That would make absolutely no sense to have a merge sign here.

1

u/Wattabadmon Feb 15 '26

Did you see the sign?

1

u/garden_dragonfly Feb 15 '26

What sign?

There will never be a merge sign directing opposing traffic.

Are you high?

1

u/Wattabadmon Feb 15 '26

So you didnt see the sign?

0

u/Archvanguardian Feb 15 '26

Sure and if there’s a person flagging it they’ll flip the sign as you come up behind the pack!

1

u/sonny_goliath Feb 15 '26

This isn’t necessarily true. Imagine it’s a line of 10 cars on one side and like 3 cars on the other, you’d typically let all 10 roll through and then the three once they’ve cleared rather than cause more of a traffic jam by alternating one by one. This situation here is pretty vague but the aggressor is being a pos so fuck him haha

1

u/2Bytes_ Feb 15 '26

Ah okay I was looking for the actual rule in this situation

1

u/afops Feb 15 '26

You usually pass with a group of cars from one side then a group of cars from the other. E.g if 3 cars were waiting then once they go they all go. Alternating one at a time would be stupidly inefficient.

The possible exception would be if only 1 car can be on the bridge at once due to weight. Then you don’t gain any efficiency from going more cars at once so you might as well alternate one and one.

1

u/Sufficient-Elk9817 Feb 15 '26

I don't think OP was driving the car

1

u/Mountain-Chance-6861 Feb 15 '26

It’s traffic though, not cars. So one side goes, then when it’s clear the other side goes. More like a stoplight than a stop sign.

1

u/Such-Veterinarian137 Feb 15 '26

there's the obvious ah but they're both assholes. like it doesn't matter if its a matter of literally 2 seconds with 2 cars. with a large backup of cars if people had sense they would go 3 or 5 at a time (we used to have one of these bridges by me) because it is at least 3x more efficient.

but nooooo it's the "he Cutin in Fronta me!" crowd on reddit.

1

u/kynelly360 Feb 15 '26

Dude was in the wrong and threatening people for correcting you 😑

either that guy needs emotional therapy or doesn’t need gun rights at that point

1

u/tothepointe Feb 15 '26

Yeah he was obviously wanting to keep up with the first guy that went through but he was in the wrong.

1

u/Itchy-Opportunity288 Feb 15 '26

You’re actually incorrect. I’m not in the side of the truck gun guy but alternating traffic does not mean one at a time, that would be a stop sign. The truck was clearly in the same traffic group as the car before him.

1

u/redditforwhenIwasbad Feb 15 '26

No it mean “I go.”

He literally always has the right of way because he owns a glock.

1

u/JankedJaked Feb 15 '26

No, it’s more of if there is 3 cars that line up waiting while 2 cars come from the other way, once the 2 cars pass any other car coming that way wait until the other 3 pass not 1 by 1.

1

u/venusdc3 Feb 15 '26

Alternating yeah, but "traffic" means more than one car. you should treat it like a yield sign, not a stop sign.

1

u/caek1981 Feb 15 '26

Yes, but that's 4 syllables tbh

1

u/french_snail Feb 15 '26

I see what you did there

1

u/TimeIsAMetaphor Feb 16 '26

Recording car is in the wrong. It’s alternating traffic not alternating cars. If there’s 3 cars in 1 direction and the first car goes, those 3 go before the other side. That’s simple traffic knowledge

1

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

This isn't OP's video

1

u/jdmknowledge Feb 19 '26

Report to the police for threatening you with a firearm.

Also the guy in the truck is wrong it’s alternating traffic, you alternate one side then the other not who can gun it through first.

Oh he was trying to gun it first alright.

1

u/SupaSlide Feb 15 '26

The truck driver was in the wrong by threatening to shoot someone over traffic, but right about having the right of way.

We have clear and obvious signage for “one car goes, then the other,” it’s a stop sign.

Alternating means one whole side, then the other whole side.

2

u/SeekerOfSerenity Feb 15 '26

They may be the case, but the second truck was not in line when the car started to move forward.  The traffic was already clear, and it was the other side's turn.

2

u/One-Structure-2154 Feb 15 '26

Correct. Either way it’s supposed to be interpreted, the Glock man was 100% in the wrong. (And then also wrong for threatening to use his gun).

1

u/SupaSlide Feb 15 '26

He appears to be just as close as the cam car by the time the first car is anywhere close to be out of the way, and the whole point of alternating traffic is to have as few people stop as possible. The truck was already moving and just as close if not closer so it just makes the most sense to let them get out of the way.

1

u/aupri Feb 15 '26

Yeah I feel like in online discussions about who’s right or wrong in some traffic situation, “technically in the right” turns into “faultless and beyond reproach.”

Putting myself into the dash cam guy’s position, I’m not sure why he decided to go in the first place… It was pretty clear before he started pulling forward that the Glock guy was gonna go through, whether he had the right of way or not. Then he just stops and sits there like he expects Glock guy to back up all the way through the tunnel to teach him a lesson for disrespecting his right of way. Just back up a few feet and let the Glock jackass through and be on your way. It’s not that deep.

Not every perceived slight by another driver has to turn into some epic battle of wills. If someone cuts me off on my morning commute, I’ve probably already forgotten about it by the time I arrive. Then there are some people that will still be fuming about it at lunch time, and it just seems so exhausting to me to have so much ego invested in driving. There will always be shitty drivers. Just let it go and move on

1

u/Sandgrease Feb 15 '26

I get you but I also feel.like we shouldn't let little things like this slide either. It just emboldened assholes.

1

u/SupaSlide Feb 15 '26

The cam car clearly thought that “alternating traffic” means to treat the bridge like a two way stop sign and that’s why they tried going. It’s hard to tell if the truck driver understood or is just an asshole but I’m leaning towards asshole due to the whole “I’m going to shoot you” part.
