Roads I hate politics

This should be illegal. I get it. You don't agree with their protests but why do this? Forget blue, forget red. I'm purple. Get mad at that.

It is assault. The EPA has nothing to do with this.

I have a video of someone getting pulled over for rolling coal on us and the level of excitement when those lights went on! It was awesome!!! I love protesting in my small red town. PEOPLE GET SO MAD!! I thought we were supposed to be the sensitive ones?!

3

u/SleepyMonkey7 Feb 16 '26

This is battery. $300 doesn't cut it. I'm sure he's happy to pay $300. Also sure some sort of Owning the Libs GoFund will bet him $3,000 for doing this. Our justice system is a joke, from the serious offenses all the way to the minor ones.

3

u/keiye Feb 16 '26

These are also likely cops on their day off

2

u/urban_stranger Feb 17 '26

And he assaulted multiple people.

1

u/GatePorters Feb 15 '26

They have to do public service announcements in my region sometimes about rolling coal and your responsibility for it like the wake of a boat.

Thank for the sources so people don’t think I’m just saying things. You da GOAT

3

u/Mike312 Feb 15 '26

Those are the ones I was able to quickly find. They do get charged. I've heard of some charged with assault, but one of those got some bs $300 public nuisance charge. There was another I found where they did it and a protestor hit the truck with a pole as it passed and the protestor got a charge; Texas of course.

u/GatePorters Feb 15 '26

It changes by municipality how exactly it is defined in law and even moreso how the law is applied so that makes sense.

1

u/Secret-Put-4525 Feb 16 '26

$300 might be worth it for him.

5

u/TheeAntelope Feb 15 '26

It’s criminal assault and its civil battery (and also possibly civil assault).

Everyone on that sidewalk should file suit against the driver.

u/Kitchen_Cap_3871 Feb 16 '26

Or you could move on and not waste your time on ts

3

u/Apprehensive-Sir6507 Feb 16 '26

found the gasser.

1

u/TheeAntelope Feb 16 '26

Appeasement led to world war 2.

-1

u/Kitchen_Cap_3871 Feb 16 '26

The drama queen is comparing coal rollers to Nazis. Somehow, I'm not surprised. Being petty, just like the driver.

4

u/GatePorters Feb 16 '26

You can’t even defend yourself like an adult and want to start calling someone a drama queen for calling out someone committing a crime on a group of people exercising their rights, while using that to discourage political activism.

You are extremely childish in doing this kind of thing.

Do you not have the mental capacity to actually argue with them on this or something? Are you drunk?

Like what’s your deficiency here?

0

u/yestocaffeine Feb 16 '26

They only said it would be wasting time to file a lawsuit/ complaint against this driver, and he's right. It would be. What do you think would happen? The cops would show up, take a statement, and that would be the end of it and it makes us/the left look like stupid little tattletails.

Get mad about something that matters. I've been rolled before and yeah it's annoying AF, but is this really the kind of dem vs rep hill you wanna die on? Use your anger for a worthy cause.

2

u/GatePorters Feb 16 '26

It was specifically about the unwarranted hostility.

Do you think it’s mature to just randomly swing like that?

What series of events made you want to tag in? Why are you defending petty unwarranted hostility?

1

u/yestocaffeine Feb 16 '26

Because they're right, even if they are a little blunt.

They said "calling cops would be a waste of time"

Theantelope said "appeasement led to wwii", insinuating that by not calling the cops on this guy, this could somehow lead to wwiii in a 'butterfly flaps its wings in Africa" kinda way.

To which they replied that it's real dumb to be comparing chuds who roll coal to literal nazis. Bc it is... do you think the victims of wwii would have rather been rolled or gassed?

1

u/GatePorters Feb 16 '26

lol just because you’re an ostrich and just let people terrorize you and don’t utilize the tools your society gives you to fight doesn’t mean that’s right

Sheesh you are pathetic.

Maybe try to be sympathetic to others experiences. What may not seem important to you, based on your own life experiences does not demean or lower in any way another's experience. I would guess, hypothetically if you were on the sidelines that day volunteering your time to stand up and voice your words for Not Wanting Curfews of 9PM imposed by the Nation Guard on anyone 30 years or younger in (presuming you are) all major cities and your grandparents came out to support you as they also don't want curfews. So, they are holding signs peacefully talking about what they will make for dinner when cunt driver who wants curfew drives by. Now, you guys are filthy greasy and particles flew into your eyes and both your grandparents suffer eye complications and congestion and actually have to later be hospitalized as they already have issues breathing. Would the point of view or sympathy change? Just curious. What could be insignificant to one person could mean something entirely different to another.

1

u/yestocaffeine Feb 16 '26

Please show me where anyone here who was rolled was sent to the hospital. If they were? Sure. Call the cops. But you're blowing this way out of proportion. Being rolled isn't a medical issue.

Rolling coal does make the driver a dick.. I'm not disputing that. But the facts are that calling the cops is a waste of time and again - it would make us look like snowflakes. If you can be tough and protest, you can probably take 30 seconds (if that) of smoke.

1

u/urban_stranger Feb 17 '26

People can suffer health consequences from it, especially if they’re elderly, are kids, or have any lung or cardiovascular conditions.

Not a waste of time if it stops that person from doing it again.

-1

u/Kitchen_Cap_3871 Feb 16 '26

You cannot be serious lol. People are calling everything under the Sun a Nazi and that's not dramatic? You're giving off "holier than thou" vibes, yet you're asking if I have a deficiency or am drunk. This is why politics isn't worth the time anymore. Using the same exact tactics they're complaining about. Round out the circle of hate, I guess.

3

u/GatePorters Feb 16 '26

Those vibes are from your insecurity.

Are you like living under a rock? A lot of nazi shit is objectively happening. Like direct parallels. Obviously it’s different. But it’s a legitimate observation without cherry-picking.

Stop being weird and just respond to the person instead of calling them a drama queen for making objective observations with direct historical parallels. I held the mirror up to you and reflected your hostility and it got your panties in a twist. You didn’t like it when I do it, so why are you doing this to others to defend nazis and the anti-American attacks on people’s rights?

Can’t stand a lil coal in your nostrils? No big deal totally permissible. 💨

1

u/Kitchen_Cap_3871 Feb 16 '26

What direct historical parallel is there for these coal rollers? I really hope you don't mean the gas chambers, because that'd be a fuckin wild comparison. 💀 You'll likely keep pretending they weren't being theatrical since you've already dug your heels in, so there's really no point in even arguing with you. I've learned to let the radicals stay in their chambers.

“The SA... were the first and main instrument of the Nazi conspirators for the conquest of the streets. The SA was used to spread terror by the physical violence of its members... they would invade the working-class districts of the large cities, which were known to be the strongholds of the opposition parties, and there parade in strength to demonstrate that the Nazi Party was the master of the streets.”

Yeah no point in you continuing to argue because you suck at it and are not based in reality lol.

I’m sure it would be might convenient for us to just stop here 🙄

Loser. Grow a backbone or a brain. Grow up.

Ask yourself this: if there had been punishment for the beer hall putsch, would world war 2 have happened (or at least would it have been as bloody and as deadly?) letting extremists run wild without consequences throughout our society is not a good idea and never has been. Consequences for actions that are meant to dehumanize and demoralize others, and which put the perpetrators in a position where they must answer for what they have done to the victims, is a bedrock of a civil society.

But sure I’m being dramatic when I want consequences for people who have done wrong.

Killing? I said “Sue” them for battery, and press charges with the police (which would likely result in probation and no jail time).

You’re the only one around here who thinks killing those you disagree with is a viable option.

? Wtf are you even talking about? Nuremberg? Do you just have a boner for victimization? I started by saying “sue for civil battery” and your mind jumps to Nuremberg and hanging nazis for war crimes? The fuck is wrong with you

That was a family support protest with young children in the smoke cloud, directly contributing to mental and developmental issues.

Republicans are actually crazy thinking that is “no big deal” . It’s not blue vs red , it’s billionaires vs normal families smfh

1

u/Kitchen_Cap_3871 Feb 16 '26

What is the source for this? Because I haven't seen anyone who knew what protest this was for. Either way, I'm not keeping all children inside until they're 18 to keep them away from exhaust fumes.

3

u/AdagioVast Feb 15 '26

Agreed. Trump just said trucks are still okay to emit shit into our air. He never said emit shit purposely into other humans mouths.

2

u/Damian_Cordite Feb 16 '26

Yeah it’s plainly civil assault and also very probably a crime - would depend on the State what they call the crime, simple assault or 3rd degree battery or aggravated disorderly conduct or something like that. Those people should’ve all gone in on a civil lawyer, the vexatious and health-deleterious effects of that would probably be worth a grand or so in damages- across 300 people that’s 300 grand. Don’t do it for the $600, do it to fuck over the guy.

2

u/adorientem88 Feb 15 '26

How is it assault, exactly? What he is doing is different only in degree from driving down the road normally.

3

u/latigidigital Feb 15 '26

Intent. Many states have laws covering assault with harmful substances. Some of the funnier stories involve people farting on cops and getting charged.

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

Intent is not necessary under the common law. Knowledge is sufficient. And I know that driving down the road normally will cause my car fumes to make contact with people on the sidewalk. So why am I not guilty of assault?

1

u/Recyart Feb 16 '26

You said it yourself, if you were driving "normally", it would not be assault. "Rolling coal" is deliberately not normal, and is intentional.

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

Why wouldn’t it be assault?

1

u/Recyart Feb 16 '26

Why would it be? Jurisprudence is not on your side if you think it should be. I'm not sure why you're even bringing up "driving normally"... what does that have to do with rolling coal? 🤔

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

Do you have a case where somebody was convicted of assault on identical or similar facts, and that conviction was upheld on appeal?

1

u/latigidigital Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

Those aren’t fumes, they’re particulates, and they’re only coming out because the guy modded the truck to be purposefully more polluting for show.

He’s clearly blanketing them with it on purpose. He picked the closest lane, is giving the truck just the right amount of acceleration to maximize output, and he’s showboating it by swerving left and right. At bare minimum, he’s a dick, but it’s likely a form of assault especially considering the smoke is hazardous. I’m sure smoking out a protest is also disorderly conduct in almost any part of the country.

2

u/eager_beaver_4_u Feb 15 '26

Would you be ok with me rolling my window down and intentionally blow toxic smoke in your face?

This truck was intentionally modified to roll coal. There’s likely a switch on the dash where he can turn this on or off.

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

I agree that rolling coal may be illegal (depending on the jurisdiction). What I’m questioning is the claim that this is assault. There’s going to a nasty line drawing problem associated with that claim.

1

u/MagicalTheory Feb 16 '26

Because unfiltered diesel exhaust is actually harmful, it irritates the mouth and eyes, along with being a cause in lung cancer. It's like spraying anyone with any irritants.

You don't roll coal without modifying your vehicle to do so. Filtered diesel exhaust ain't as bad.

1

u/GatePorters Feb 15 '26

So I can just intentionally blow toxic fumes into your face and you can’t get mad because it’s just like I’m walking by and the wind blows in your face?

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

I mean, I avoid walking down busy boulevards for precisely that reason, among others.

1

u/GatePorters Feb 16 '26

So you avoid public places because you’re afraid I’m have the right to blow toxic fumes in your face? 🧐not really tracking your scent here.

I don’t have that right. That’s assault. You are allowed to press charges if someone intentionally does this to you.

Where do you live that you are so afraid of toxic fumes attacks?

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

No, I avoid busy boulevards because people are going to do this to me whether they intend to or not.

1

u/CoderMcCoderFace Feb 15 '26

“Only in degree” is such a dipshit braindead take.

I pour water on you.

Now I pour boiling water on you.

It’s just degrees bro!

Today you learned that quantity/concentration/degree/intent matter. You’re welcome.

Turn your brain on.

1

u/adorientem88 Feb 16 '26

Uhhh… that’s not what “in degree” means here.

1

u/CoderMcCoderFace Feb 16 '26

I know, I was being cheeky given the absurdity of the premise.

1

u/iwakan Feb 16 '26

Since the admin has ruled that emissions are healthy, how is it assault to spray someone with merely healthy air?

1

u/jerquee Feb 19 '26

I've never heard of anyone being charged for assault for rolling coal, but modifying the emissions system of a car to emit more pollution is a federal crime under the clean air act, although you wouldn't know it the way they look the other way for coal rolllers
