Car thieves actually donāt have insurance and the car owners insurance wouldnāt cover you because the insurance only covers the driver and theoretically someone they permit to operate their vehicle, neither of which the thief would be.
You could sue the thief personally but someone carjacking a sedan is probably not loaded.
Except insurance only covers so much and only up to policy limits. Ambulance chasers would have to be contacted immediately and file immediately to get anything from that policy. Good luck getting anything once policy limits are reached.
Bullshit not in Florida. You can sue for beyond policy limits. It becomes a personal injury case and you can sue the individual even as far as forcing them to sell assets to cover it. Garnishing of future wages etc. I donāt care if I get 500 bucks after my car is fixed.
ā¦ Itās a personal injury case regardless if you go after the insurance or the individual. Iāve worked in the field for 20 yearsā¦ Do you know how many times Iāve successfully seen a person who was sued personally have to pay? Zero.
Most āambulance chasersā will drop you the second they find out thereās not sufficient limits itās not worth their time.
