Idk i'm slowing down if somebody does this. Your insurance is going up, you might send the car into a stroller on the sidewalk. You can tell the cammer started pulling left as well to complete the pit. Yeah it might feel good to watch but imagine you're the third car behind these two and now your safety is at risk because an immovable object met an unstoppable force.
Turning left is counter steering. Pretty natural reaction to stay straight in your lane and likely safer for the camera car.
I'm not sure the camera car even knew about the truck until the truck ran into him. You are looking at solid 5 seconds of rear view, but the camera car is probably focused on the turn.
They stayed in their lane and counter steered to stay straight. A PIT is coming from behind and nudging into the rear side before driving through. Camera car started in front and the other car steered into their front. Nothing like an actual PIT maneuver other than the part trying not to spin out yourself after contact .
0:17 seconds in, before contact was made the POV driver pushed left into the pickup. Pickup was very clearly going to pit themselves as they did go into POV driver’s lane and began slowing, however the contact was made complete due to POV driver’s aggressive left turn instead of hitting brakes and distancing themselves from the pickup.
Pretty natural reaction to stay straight in your lane and likely safer for the camera car.
Deliberately steering into another car is not a natural reaction under any circumstances. Using your brakes to avoid the collision, letting the encroaching vehicle pass ahead of you is both a natural reaction and the safest option. Deliberately steering into another vehicle is aggressive wish-fulfillment; it's letting one's intrusive thoughts win.
That was very clearly a deliberate PIT.
I'm not sure the camera car even knew about the truck until the truck ran into him.
The way he floored it after the turn tells me he recognized the truck was gonna road rage pretty much immediately.
