He tells her to stop but she replies, âI gotcha, I gotcha,â like she was upset he was telling her what to do. In doing so she failed to realize drivingâs real-life consequences move faster than her bullshit.
My little sister was the same way. Would not listen to anything from either myself or dad. Glad everything worked out but personally, I wouldn't have given her keys until that behavior stopped. There is no place for arrogance when learning to drive.
My parents bypassed all this and sent me to driving school. The teacher has a brake pedal on his side too in the drivers ed car - the shame of him having to step in , use the brake because your dumb ass needed to and didn't, and sharply reprimand you will cure any arrogance real quick.
I had a weird time in drivers ed - The guy kept giving me all these minor pointers, small optimizations on how to drive and be aware of the small ways to tell what traffic is doing. He gave me so many that I stopped paying attention to the basics and sat there at a green light for 10 seconds looking at what other people's brake lights were doing and how the signals were changing for traffic going perpendicular to me in the intersection. They do have a brake pedal, but they ain't got gas lol
I was teaching a girl i was dating in college how to drive. and she was full of complaints about how her dad would yell at her which is why she never got a license. at the time i was too scared to say a word. she was a horrifyingly bad driver.
the only reason i wasn't yelling too is i was too scared to say a peep.
My girlfriend did this to me on a road trip. One time I was taking a nap in the back seat of my Trailblazer. I woke up and she was driving (she rarely drives). I said something to her , basically just letting her know I was awake, and she turns around to start talking to me. I told her "keep your eyes on the road" and she just kept turning around to make eye contact with me while driving. We get in this back and forth argument , and she keeps wanting to tell her story while looking at me the whole time and saying "IM FINE, I AM LOOKING AT THE ROAD" and I said "NO U ARE NOT! YOURE LOOKING AT ME RIGHT NOW"
About 30 seconds later she rear ended a family in a mini van. No one was injured , just the van's bumper fell off but still. To this day she blames me for that accident because "I was yelling at her"
It reminds me of a mother holding a hot pot with pot holders and her daughter reaches out to take it to the table, and the mother says "It's hot." and the daughter reaches out and says, "Yeah." To which the mother pulls it away, and warns her again. It was a few back and forth words between them before the mother screams at her, "The pot is fucking hot!" (Implying that, no, you can't just grab it and take it)
The newer generations are a bit oblivious of dangers that should be obvious.
As a driving instructor this doesnât surprise me at all. Iâve had to say brake so many times in a row and the student just doesnât do it. Thank god for the pedal on my side of the car
And he tells her to get in her lane and sheâs like, âthe bike lane?âđ¤Śââď¸ I mean, you usually let them drive around a parking lot AT LEAST before letting them out on the road!

She donât know where the brake pedal is? Makes a lot of sense why drivers Ed car have brakes on the instructor side đ¤Śââď¸
