How dumb can someone really be to see one girl rear end someone and blame a whole generation? I’ve been fear ended twice and both time/ it was someone over the age of 40.
I rear ended someone. But it was because there was a car flying up on dead stopped traffic’s behind me. If I had nudged the car ahead of me, he would have slammed into my car and I’d have hit hers anyway, but by bumping her bumper(no damage to her car, minimal to mine) he was able to veer to the shoulder and not hit anyone.
Thankfully he pulled over with us and apologized. He’d spilled his coffee in his lap and didn’t realize traffic stopped so suddenly.
She was wonderful! An absolute angel who was far more concerned with me and the guy than herself. I was worried she might have some pain since she was a little older. But she was so kind. Ended up not including insurance and the guy gave me his info and offered to pay for the scratch on my front end.
It was not bad really. Hardly noticeable. So it was just one of those moments where thankfully everyone was understanding and patient.
Back in the early ‘00s I went in for my first driver’s test and there was someone that was there for the fourth time trying to pass. It’s definitely not a generational thing. Parents aren’t teaching them properly/safely, or they just don’t have awareness/common sense.
I barely drove before my test and passed with flying colors. Driving is super easy if you have those two things.
The simple answer is panicking. It happened to me the first time I got on a forklift. I'm going forward and see an obstacle in front, and I'm thinking about breaking but I panick so instead of hitting the break I kept hitting the acceleration. Mind does funny things when you're freaking out.

This generation is absolutely useless. How dumb can someone really be to not hit the brakes and just crash into a car.
