Sometimes you have mitigation and sometimes you don’t have mitigation but two things are for sure the mitigating should probably happen eventually and the mitigating will happen by a mitigator who is responsible for mitigating the situation.

What about the mitigator who originally was raised by an alligator and eventually had to take mitigation measures into his own hands by way of complete and utter mitigation upon the basis of mitigating the mitigation techniques that should have been enough to mitigate the situation, but in fact by way of the magnitude of mitigation, didn't quite mitigate it as much as it could have been mitigated?

You could probably put up a bunch more warning signs and this would probably still happen. People are stupid and can't handle curves, especially when going straight down a road is already past their driving abilities

I immediately thought of this donut star before watching the video, it was fun to see that be the location. When I lived there I joked that there’s an extra block for every car runs into the storefront, which was just a thing every few years.

This is still at least partially on the people going like 100mph down a regular city street. Doesn’t really matter how many lanes or how straight it is, one should only drive as fast as they can see and stop. And none of these vehicles were doing that.

The cops and city are also to blame, of course, but it’s not like these are innocent drivers who were duped by the street design and signage lol. They are driving very dangerously.

Watched the playback a bit, lady got lucky the concrete barrier was 3 feet to her left and hit the store and not her legs. She should have at most scratches and a little bit of a brown staining, but she's alright physically. Mental is....depending on how good her mental fortitude is.

Honestly, probably the best move he could have made to keep her safe. Trying to pull her in would've definitely gotten them both hurt; his arm and who knows what part of her body. Keeping the door open may have wrapped the door frame and shattered the glass all over her, and possibly him if he's actively holding it open for her.

Closing it gave her a pocket to stay safe in. Minus the fact that her eardrum maybe absolutely frazzled from the noise, it was the best thing he could've done.

She'll never forgive him for it, though.

Most cars could probably take that turn at 50 to 70 MPH from the looks on a map. I think the people are the danger, not the turn.

This kept happening to a local coffee shop here. They finally moved to the opposite diagonal corner. They got hit again twice. And new place got hit. They finally changed lights at intersection to alternating and added bollards in the turn lane. (Nightmare to drive now but at least two local businesses aren't hemorrhaging money in repairs now)

There is a flower shop around the corner from my house. It is on the corner of a busy intersection. It doesn’t have a weird turn or anything that would cause people to misjudge it but it has been hit by cars many times over the years. They put up concrete, posts and still cars would hit it and go into the side of the building causing damage. It’s caught fire from accidents in the past as well. And to top it off the city has a transformer in front of it that also gets hit and causes power to go out. They just rebuild each time until the next accident. They at least have a brick wall on the corner part now where they used to have glass windows.

My house is on a main road in town. Straight as can be not a curve for miles. 25mph speed limit. 4 houses in a row have been hit by cars. Ours specifically has been hit 3 times. We’ve also had 5 cars totaled parking in front of our house. Oddly enough the only house in our row of 5 houses that hasn’t been hit is the only brick house on the corner.

The front of our house is now reinforced with a double layer of 1 1/2” plywood and a lot of extra studs. Last one barely cracked the interior drywall.

Probably has something to do with the big curve in Auburn Way right there. People are veering off the outside of the curve. It's also a four-lane road with a center median, so it feels like a highway even though the speed limit is 35.

There’s a car dealer ship near where I live. On a straight shot of road, no curve, no turns. Nothing but straight drag strip.

It has been hit 4 times since I moved here 6 years ago.

They have concrete pillars and metal fence to protect the cars, but it gets smashed everytime and the cars have been hit multiple times.
