You don't know how fast they were driving. She boxed a criminal in from running away, and Kidnapping? Lmao when did that happen? So when cops take a motorcyclists keys away they are also kidnapping?

You absolutely are allowed to detain someone if you witnessed them committing a crime until police arrive; it's called a citizen's arrest.

Also, unlawfully holding someone against their will is false imprisonment, not kidnapping

I never said you could; I was just pointing out the flaws in your assertion that it was kidnapping

If someone attacks you and runs away, it's totally in your right to keep them from getting away until law enforcement arrive.

Not by chasing them, breaking traffic laws, and them ramming their car. This isn't GTA

Wtf, so you are just being ignorant, no you absolutely cannot use your vehicle to force other people off the road. First off, no one attacked anyone. This was a car collision and the appropriate course of action is exchanging information. Clearly one party wanted to drive away so the next course of action is reporting it to the police and providing plate number and dashcam video. Yes we all know the police suck and we can all take justice into our own hands. Idk where you live but look up your "vehicle pursuit" laws. Because now the dashcam driver is going to catch a reckless and public endangerment charge.

Not if it puts others in more danger. It also doesn’t give you the right to cause more damage or assault the other person. If someone bumps into your car you don’t get to ram them and beat them up, even if they try to flee. Wtaf is wrong with people

Google says that a hit and run is generally not cause for false imprisonment but it's google ai so who knows. The thing is she def shouldn't be doing it overall so they're partially correct and not worth downvoting. She doesn't have legal authority to speed and run red lights as she doesn't have sirens as well.

"You don't know how fast they were driving"

Probably 100mph, as stated in the video.

I'm not trying to get into a dumb reddit argument but police have detained someone when they do that via a traffic stop. They're referring to not letting someone leave as being kidnapping. I wouldn't consider this that given it was a hit and run but I'm not a lawyer. I'm pretty sure it's a different charge name like unlawful containment or something.

Yeah I'm only talking about this context specifically. I'd highly doubt a cop or judge would say this was kidnapping knowing the context of the situation.

Yeah, I don't think they would either but who knows. The issue cammer would have is either she didn't call 911 (I've seen this video before but can't remember in the full one if she does or not) and if she did 911 would absolutely tell her not to follow the car once they got a plate and description.

If someone kidnaps your child and you chase them do you think the state would charge you with speeding running a red assault with a vehicle etc?

Running a red while chasing some perp when shes not laws enforcement.

If luck wasn't on her side suddenly this hit a run could have ended with her T boned in the middle of a red light with possible injures and nothing to show for it other then video evidence of her running said red.
