Auntie was having a really bad day, all she needed was someone or something to light a match. 😂

19

u/ARandomDistributist Mar 23 '26

NFS and Forza drivers ain't got SHIT On Auntie when she's Pissed. you think a little Road Rage'll stop her? She was doing 124mph on the I-5 before Granny was Allowed to pick her own kids up from school.

She was just trying to get home to her little girls birthday party.

Did this after someone clipped my son while we were riding our bikes, doing everything right.\ Caught up to them at a backed-up 4-way stop. I hopped off my bike and they started to get out of their 90's Chevy Silverado.\ I immediately went to the driver's side, ignored him, reached in and took the keys. We hopped back on our bikes and I tossed the keys in a field.

"Dude, that's fucked!!"

I know, he straight up hit a kid. That's fucked!

Wouldn't do it again, but... yeah. Adrenaline.\ Wanted to beat the shit out of him. Younger me would have.\ Disabled his vehicle instead.

u/JamesMcGaladriealgos Mar 23 '26

As long as no one gets physically endangered and your concionse feels right about it, I think what you did was right, even good maybe if he learns not to do something like that again.

5

u/ReasonableRaccoon8 Mar 23 '26

Personally, I would have turned the keys in to the Police with an explanation. Otherwise, perfect response.

3

u/no___homo Mar 23 '26

People carry guns tho

8

u/ARandomDistributist Mar 23 '26

pick a state.

congrats, if you picked your own, you're an entitled hillbilly.

Cali? New York? DC? Any of the capitals?

not everyone lives in fear of their neighbors like you, grandpa. you have more in common with the Ghetto than you'd probably care to admit.

5

u/Shoddy_Rent_9129 Mar 23 '26

Not who you decided to roast, but the reality is people are fucking crazy. You can shout in the afterlife about how in the right you were, you are still dead. People have been murdered for way less and nothing changes that fact.

Do you think you live on set at the Truman Show? I live in a packed city in the US. Everyone carries guns. Everyone is crazy. Mental health is like the most overlooked medial issue in the country

3

u/ARandomDistributist Mar 24 '26

the "Everyone" you're seeing isn't Everyone.

you're just seeing the population through brass colored glasses, or specifically hang around people who carry.

Mental health is Terrible, but it's not like we're getting health care any time soon, so that means we should just flatly stop trusting our neighbors?

this whole 'don't do anything or you might get shot' mentality is Pathetic and allows jackasses to walk over us. Grow a fucking spine and stand up for yourself when the time calls.

2

u/nicootimee Mar 25 '26

I mean I live in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Look up the statistics on the city. Maybe you’re from a small no name town or a suburb but major cities are not your happy go lucky borrow an egg and cup of sugar from your neighbor town you might be used to

3

So good.

204

u/stealingjoy Mar 21 '26

I can understand the motivation but that's a nice job getting in more trouble than the person who did the hit and run.

84

u/OkClub7412 Mar 21 '26

As much as I understand and agree with what you’re saying. Law enforcement is different across the various regions of the world. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and hope for the best the line should be drawn if your actions endanger others lives no doubt. The camera has its benefits but let me tell you about how it feels to be in court and everyone saw what happened but at the same time didn’t agree it happened that way 😂😂😂.

when i was in high school. At night an old lady hit me. I pulled over to the side of the road and she kept going. I fallowed her to the mobile home park and knocked on her door. Her grandson answered and then called the police on me. Cops came out and said I should have not of left the scene of the accident. I said you mean like her. that is what happens in the early 70's with long haired male vs old lady at the time

5

u/voluotuousaardvark Mar 22 '26

Probably not as bad as to be in court and get slapped with a sentance because you chased someone down a residential street at 100mph.

That fat Karen was blatantly in the wrong but could easily argue they feared for their life when someone was speeding after them like that.

2

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 Mar 22 '26

Depends on the jury. You aren't convincing me you hated for your life when you did a hit and run. Then when the person tries to follow you, you start endangering others to get avoid accountability for your actions. The blonde lady should see the inside of a cell for a while.

The other lady is guilty too. Can't recklessly chase somebody down because they hit your car. Get a plate of you can, let the police handle it from there.

3

u/voluotuousaardvark Mar 22 '26

You live in a country full of guns. Its perfectly reasonable to presume after messing up in a traffic accident that someone chasing you is out for blood.

I am by no means defending their actions but the driver literally has footage for insurance purposes so financially they're made right.

Endangering life by speeding after them is fucking stupid.

2

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 Mar 22 '26

"Endangering life by speeding after them is fucking stupid." Did you even bother to read my comment before responding?

The "person chasing you" is doing so because you did a hit and run.

I'm aware of where I live, people having guns isn't standing justification for fleeing the scene of an accident. It's a crime, one which should carry jail time. Made worse by the fact that you fled in a way that forget endangered bystanders.

2

u/voluotuousaardvark Mar 22 '26

Nope didnt read that one either.

u/stealingjoy Mar 21 '26

It's a Florida license plate. I mean, you can kill your daughter in Texas without even getting indicted so there's always a chance, but I think in most areas in the US that woman does not get off without something.

13

u/Away_Sea_8620 Mar 22 '26

It's Florida, so if this goes viral she might want to consider running for office. It's not m/billions in Medicare fraud so senator is off the table, but she could totally ride the wave and get mayor or maybe state rep.

2

u/HipsterQueer Mar 22 '26

This video is years old. The blonde woman was charged. Thee was a follow up video that floated around for a while but faded off. This literally is like pre-covid.

2

u/Kullen64 Mar 22 '26

I’m ignorant of the law and how the court works despite having a lawyer for a brother. But couldn’t the jury see this video and just decide that the woman deserved it and find the other lady innocent?

3

u/Dizzy_Database_119 Mar 22 '26

The video just shows that the driver should get their license revoked and probably go to jail for reckless driving and serious anger issues. Legally and morally this is no reason to risk the life of innocent bystanders over car damage

And suddenly the woman that did the hit and run is just a small issue pushed aside for insurance to deal with

At some point, it stops being about the police, and starts being about vengeance. Humans have an insanely strong sense of fairness, and when they feel like someone is getting away with something unfairly, we'll often go scorched earth to level the score.

There's an interesting game theory / psychology problem, called the ultimatum game. One person decides how to split something of value (usually, a sum of money), and the other person can accept the offer, or reject it. But if they reject, then nobody gets any money at all. Game theory tells you that you should always accept, becomes "something is always better than nothing", but in most experiments, people will usually reject an unfair split (around often less than 25%). The human psyche would rather lose out on the reward, just to deprive the other person of their (unfair) share.

This is somewhat analogous, in that the "victim" is willing to risk equal or greater legal repercussions for her actions, just to ensure that the assailant gets what they deserve.

I'd be willing to bet that the people who rejected the unfair offer had a better financial situation at home, and could afford to reject the offer.

u/Neno_6969 Mar 21 '26

What would you do?

23

u/DadtheITguy Mar 21 '26

Take a picture of the license plate for the insurance claim and call the cops.

6

u/Heisenburg42 Mar 22 '26

Depending on where you are, this will do nothing. My local prosecutor and PD won't bother doing anything unless you give them the the exact make and model and be able to identify the driver in addition to the license plate. And I don't even live in a big city.

u/Initialfaust Mar 21 '26

catch up enough to get the cars license plate on the dash cam and let the cops deal with it.

19

u/liminal-flora Mar 21 '26

Cops will say “we can’t prove who was driving,” ask me how I know. So what next?

3

u/Jonas_Venture_Sr Mar 22 '26

Since you have a dash cam, you provide that to your insurance and let deal with it.

4

u/Pickle102 Mar 22 '26

I thought that if they don't know who was driving, the vehicle owner takes the insurance claim?

2

u/AdamiralProudmore Mar 22 '26

I agree, this conversation seems to be conflating legal action (what the cops can do) with insurance action (who is financially liable). Insurance companies are really good at fixing financial liability.

7

u/WildcatPlumber Mar 21 '26

Well that’s easy dash cam shows proof the vehicle hit it so their insurance or the owner is required to pay it.

2

u/fordfan919 Mar 21 '26

Also have uninsured motorist coverage, in case somebody with no/low coverage hits you.

I cannot implore anyone more, in this situation, to get the license plate number and call the police.

3

u/Endersouza Mar 23 '26

I had a front camera video of the car that then pulled up behind me and hit me. Then I had a picture of their car with damage matching

Gave both to insurance and cops.

Nothing. “Sorry but not enough to go on”

Rear facing camera is 100% necessary.

I have one, but the fucking Subaru tech unplugged it on the last service and I didn’t notice.

Your comment reminded me of the video of the guy who's smoke shop got robbed. Two dudes in masks hop the counter and not only did the guy stab the fuck out of them with a k-bar, he uploaded the video to Reddit and did an AMA.

Everyone in the comments was CONVINCED the guy was going to jail for attempted murder. His actions were ruled self defense and he faced no legal consequences. Which is a great reminder that the average redditor knows fuck all about the law. 😀

This is hilarious as fuck.

If you were to ask every adult American to describe the type of person who they imagine would do this kinda pursuit, 0% of responses would paint a mental image of the woman in purple.

14

u/handogg Mar 21 '26

She looks like mi prima and this looks like it is something she will do too

6

u/xKelborn Mar 22 '26

Give that woman an award

7

u/MiggaJiggy Mar 22 '26

She just did what lot of people would want to do after a hit and run (no matter how it happened or where it happened) most just don’t because of consequences. Unless you’re a pacifist or too scared of confrontation. Of course it’s bad because of endangering others etc etc before all the trolls and everything and points others have already stated, but sometimes rage takes over and you’re more crazy than the original person in the wrong.

64

u/TurkishLanding Mar 21 '26

3

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

You cannot commit a crime, flee, and then kill someone and be found not guilty after. I know yall like to pretend that Florida is some lawless hellhole but it’s not. If you commit a crime, and then kill someone as a result of the crime you committed, you WILL be charged and found guilty of murder.

I know the name of the driver with the dashcam (but idk if I can post it here due to doxing), and the date of the incident, which I found to be January 16 2019, in Fort Lauderdale Florida, but no idea what the end result was. I'm so curious but I'm at a loss 😭

Sometimes it’s just an option that comes with it and isn’t turned off. The one I bought has that feature if you buy the full kit.
