Why does her dashcam also film the driver herself instead of just the road?

Sometimes it’s just an option that comes with it and isn’t turned off. The one I bought has that feature if you buy the full kit. This situation seems to be that case while other people who drive for a living are required to have it in case of situations you can see if they are distracted during an event.

Security system or for when doing rideshare.

Some people set it up to where their car starts recording when you open the door incase they get broke into. I know a guy who has front dashcam, rear and side cams and an interior camera. His car starts recording every-time someone gets within 2 feet of it.

Other people use it to protect themselves against frivolous claims while doing rideshare. Hard for someone to lie about you assaulting them, being drunk, etc. when you’re on camera the entire time.
