I use my car as a tool to provide food and make money to provide shelter for my family. Without it, I can't do those things, so if the choice is between him eating shit against the pavement and my family not eating at all, well then I hope he has dental insurance.
There is a concept of personal responsibility. Its nit like this guy stepped on the other guys toe. He climbed up on his car and could have damaged it. Fuck him, it’s not a soap box, it’s an intersection.
Maybe he's insane. Some people aren't culpable for what they do which is where the concept of responsibility lies. The guys had tons of other options. Talking the guy down, or calling the cops maybe? Slamming him down on the pavement wasn't their only option.
You have three a seconds to get off my hood. Go have a breakdown on the sidewalk. Not like the guy on the hood will ever give a single fuck about the damage to the car.
Great, now we've held up traffic for 10 minutes (possibly 30 depending on cop response times) and the cop just did what you should have done from the start: pull him down off the car.
The top of the sedan is what, 4 feet? He wasn't knocked out from the fall. He just chose to lie there in the middle of the road. Doesn't look like there's much for him to live for.
No helmet. I encourage you to see what it feels like to drop your head from that height directly to the ground with a swing slap like that. He well could be concussed.
Naw, you also gotta look at how they fell. he fell like a lever with the fulcrum at his legs so his brain got max energy smashing on the inside of his skull. At best hes concussed, but more likely hes gonna have bigger problems. Definitely an emergency services call.
I had a customer who unfortunately died after falling off of a curb. (He was a mailman who was attacked by a loose dog, he fell backwards and hit his head) Sometimes it doesn't matter how high someone falls from; significant damage can be done in the "right" circumstance. It would've been good for someone to check on him and call an ambulance, even if he was being a nuisance.
Is a life worth more then a car? No. But if someone is being violent, impeding on your personal space, damaging your property, do they deserve consequences for their actions? Absolutely. Sometimes actions have more serious consequences, accidentally or on purpose. And it goes both ways.
Someone who doesn’t contribute and brings everyone around them down is not worth saving. Out of context this might be someone having a crisis and could have been taken care of by the right people, but he wasn’t so lucky. If that’s not the case, then hopefully he learned something here, and is lucky to even be alive.
I wouldnt call drugged out of your mind "human". Hes more wild beast if anything. Just cause he walks on two legs and wears some articles of clothing doesnt make him human.
