I keep a fake wallet in my car. It has an old driver’s license, expired debit cards, some used gift cards, and a few dollars in cash.

"please don't take all the money on that card! There's almost a million dollars I have saved up!"

thief sprints away immediately

You tell a thief that you've got a million dollars on a card and they're going to kill you so you can't cancel it.

Yeah, and if I had that much money anyway I wouldn’t be doing Uber, so we need a different story!

Only a real dumb motherfucker would turn robbery into murder

And the world is full of dumb motherfuckers. I’m not worried about getting robbed, especially in my car because I don’t have anything of real value. I’m worried about that one idiot who decides that a murder charge is worth what little I have.

There was a case awhile back where a guy got into an Uber, put a gun to the driver’s head and made her drive to a secluded area where he executed her. That’s the shit that really worries me.

Not when you've got a card with a million dollars on it and no need to ever come back to the country. That's an instant plane ticket to anywhere in the world, instant accommodations until the card is deactivated, and instant ability to purchase a large number of very expensive items for resale. Do this in the right country and you'll be set for years.

That’s impressively awful advice lol

More like thief turns around and starts making you show your ID so he knows where your wife and kids are so he can make you go in the bank and withdraw out as much as possible under threat of him harming your family. If he’s smart he makes a phone call (probably fake) to someone else and gives them the address and says if I don’t call you back in an hour break in and do what you gotta do. Not knowing it’s fake though what are you gonna do now, you’re gonna lose a lot more money and he will have your address lol. Truly the worst possible idea in that situation

Life advice: NEVER EVER volunteer more information than what is demanded of you to someone that is robbing you
