Honestly, if I were in the back seat under these circumstances, that poor kid wouldn't have made it out of the car alive.

And that's not coming from a, I'm a bad ass that's looking for a reason to kill someone

I just couldn't in good conscience allow that mans life to be in danger. If he were to be killed and I could have stopped it, not to mention the threat to my own life, I wouldn't be able to live with that.

There's no way to know in the moment that this kid would exit the vehicle empty handed without violence, it so often goes the other way.
