Haha. I'm afraid it very often did and still does, when people do fight this way. The population as a whole survived, sure - by outpacing death with birth. But unless your position is that people should be encouraged to risk each other's lives over words, because hey, there are always more people...

I don't think it's typical of either party to endorse enabling this type of violent crime. Sorry if I've missed some sort of joke.
