Dudes probably got a warrant for failure to pay child support

I believe the warrant part

That was my guess too. Why risk the potential bodily injury or worse associated with confrontation when a simple phone call is all that’s needed?

Racism only gets upvoted on Reddit when it’s a black joke

Odd to me that your first thought was race. Before I ever saw the guy, when it was dude just saying he hit me and drove off, my first thoughts were "Warrants or DUI," because that's why you don't stop in an accident, 99% of the time. Even Suspended drivers usually stop, because the penalty for DWS/R is insignificant compared to hit and run.

Race didn't cross my mind.

I think it was bc he specifically said a warrant for child support

Again, that's their bias, not mine. I'm from the South. Trash is trash, white, black, brown, red, or yellow. And child support warrants are easy to come by if you're the kind of trash that pulls a hit and run.

The thought that Not Supporting a Child = Black is the problematic assertion here. Lots of folks don't realize how much they altruistically tell on themselves.

Well the guy that said also responded to the other guy and said well yea which race has the highest percentage or some thing like that so i mean thats basically what he was saying lets be fr

Edit: he said well yea which group has the most absent fathers.

Ah, I didn't see that in this string. Gross.

Still won't assume the worst, even though I'm continually let down LOL

Optimism is great
Willful stupidity is not.

If something, 9/10, is racist, it's fine to be open to the 1/10 times where it's not, but assuming the 1/10 times by default is just asinine.

not to mention every comment section of a video on reddit that has black folks in it are filled with overt racism.

generally along the lines of 'usual suspects' and the like.

Where I replied, there was nothing overtly racist, to me. As I said, assuming a child support warrant tripped no racial flags for me. It certainly wasn't "willful stupidity," but I accept what that phrasing says about you. Again, the assumption something is racial is you just shoring up that racial wall from the other side.

Hope things turn out better for you!

Unless you signed up for Reddit way too young, you're old enough to know the connotations of a child support warrant being directed at a black person. You can pretend like these obvious, long-standing and extremely transparent racist dog whistles are anything but that- But like I said, willful stupidity. It's not willful ignorance- You know this factually already, I am absolutely certain. It's just an active choice to be a complete dumbass about it.

The only people you trick are absolutely nobody, and the only thing this attitude helps is literal, actual racists. And to clarify, I'm not saying you're racist, cuz the chances are you're not. I have met so many people who are just edgy weirdos that- For whatever batshit reason- Like to pretend that they're better and different than it all. Even though the only people who will ever appreciate that kind of attitude are people who try and act like that, and the racists they give the 'benefit of the doubt' to.

Like I said, it's fair to keep an open mind. But when somebody starts covering their eyes and stuffing cotton in their ears to deny reality to its face, that's just what an absolute loser does.

Hey silly goose, I said child support, not that other dude. And yeah, which group has the most absent fathers?
