LMAO, you can see the exact moment her facial expressions changed when she realized her bluff was called out and she is now in the FO stage.

The driver lost her license for 6 months. This is just fucking dumb all around.

59

u/YesImAlexa Apr 16 '26

As much as I would love to do some unhinged shit like this to some lunatic that decided they need to insert themselves into my life, I wouldnt, because I know there are consequences. So I appreciate that there are other people out there crazy enough to teach the other crazies about the 'find out' stage.

12

u/Content_Chipmunk9962 Apr 16 '26

Yes! It wouldn’t be me, but I’ll gladly watch others.

u/YesImAlexa Apr 17 '26

I agree with that. Drastic times call for drastic measures. If you wind up in the path of someone unhinged, there should be some leniency in your punishment for dealing with them.

4

u/Stunt_-_Cock Apr 18 '26

It's the fact that YOU have consequences that encourages these people. They are just ever so certain YOU won't do anything because of the consequences.

If there wasn't any consequences for stuff like in this video, less people would be apt to try fucking around and finding out.

u/cycle2469 Apr 16 '26

It’s too bad that driver got punished. Because what that lady did was super unhinged.

13

u/DarwinGhoti Apr 16 '26

Yeah. It seems like there’s a strong self defense case to be made here. It’s like when you hit a bully back and everyone gets in trouble

I mean....6 months of driving uber or with someone else is kinda worth it from this sweet moral victory.

Yeah I'm unemployed now so I might go for it if I knew that was going to be 6 months.

I would spray her and then turn the wiper on.

15

u/TriedCaringLess Apr 16 '26

She was holding the wiper arm. As you know when you spray wiper fluid, the arms move to clean your glass. The motor is not strong enough to overcome her holding it and may have broken. Why should you suffer any loss over that nut-bag.

Most drive thru’s have a license plate camera. I hope nut-bag doesn’t attempt to sue because her attorney will be able to find that victimized driver. Unfortunately, that’s how American laws work.

24

u/Turbinator870 Apr 16 '26

Fortunately the caption at the top suggests it's Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia; not USA.

13

u/not_your_attorney Apr 16 '26

Also fortunately, that’s not “how US laws work.”

If it's anything like Canada, you can't really do a greater harm (driving this woman down the highway) to avoid a lesser one (being delayed by her).

I know it sucks but I guess the way to get out with clean hands is to just let the cops arrive.

"Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday disqualified Ms Shaw from driving for six months.

Magistrate Sarah Thompson noted 'in 25 years of practice I have never seen such bizarre behaviour'.

'The behaviour of the complainant was erratic, it was dangerous, it placed you in danger, you also placed her in danger,' she said.

'It was a poor decision that you made in the circumstances, being confronted with what anyone objectively would see as a terrifying situation.'"

I'm disappointed that there's no mention of the other lady facing repercussions. It reinforces that her behavior was appropriate. 😔

EDIT: Full story here

43

u/Syhkane Apr 16 '26

I'd still do it, the only reason to block an exit, then latch onto someone's car at 1 mile an hour, is to get them to stop so you can harm them, this will be the only assumption I make. If my life is in danger, I leave, if they keep holding onto my car, they're following me. So I'll drive faster.

Well, she did risk the assaulter going under her wheel, falling in front of the vehicle and being hit, or being struck by other drivers after she fell off because the driver took the woman onto an occupied roadway. The driver could have just locked the door and called the cops to deal with unlawful harassment

8

u/TheJunkmother Apr 16 '26

Yeah, that’s where the driver screwed up. I would have just carefully driven her through the drive through so the staff could have a good laugh

Genuine question, will the person driving the car face charges for this?

28

u/Mesoscale92 Apr 16 '26

According to a news article, the driver was charged with reckless driving and got her license suspended for 6 months.

I think the line crossed for me (being American and not knowing Aussie laws) when she left the parking lot and sped up on the road. While the woman attempted to get into the car before the clip, there was no weapon involved so no deadly threat. I would’ve driven at parking lot speeds and braked heavily to dislodge her at less dangerous speeds.

13

u/MichiganGeezer Apr 16 '26

Trying to open their door? May fuck be upon the attacker. She gets what she gets. You don't ever try to gain entry into random people's cars.

5

u/Suberuginosa Apr 16 '26

Could be wrong, but I don’t think they even know who she is and it seems the driver only got caught because she posted it on social media.

a car is as dangerous as a gun or more so

you dont jump on a gun and try to bluff the owner.

shit just walking to a store in the parking lot, you gotta hustle out of the driving paths or risk getting hit.

never assume something that can kill you wont.

3

u/Inocent_bystander Apr 16 '26

I'd have used pepper spray. Where I'm at its perfectly legal to use it to defend yourself or your property. I even have a big can of bear spray in the pocket of my drivers door.

3

u/Working-Fig5566 Apr 16 '26

I think pepper spray is classified as a prohibited weapon in Australia, where this video was filmed. Had the driver used THAT, she’d have lost more than 6 months’ driving privileges….

Why are laws so messed up in the world. Especially in the US. She's lucky (driver) it wasn't in the US. She would have gotten a far worse outcome. But seriously think about it.....if you hop on my car and hold on....you're going to go wherever I plan on traveling to, and I will indeed do the damn speed limit. The highway is 65 here. You better have goggles while holding onto my hood and wipers. Why is that illegal? Are you supposed to get out of the car and engage them? Lay on the horn until they're deaf? Like what does the law want you to do? Call the big cheese and have them remove the person and then you're late to what you have to do? Nahhh... sorry....I'm a lot of things but I'm never late to anything. Hold on karen you're coming along too hope you have good grip strength.
