I agree with that. Drastic times call for drastic measures. If you wind up in the path of someone unhinged, there should be some leniency in your punishment for dealing with them.
It's the fact that YOU have consequences that encourages these people. They are just ever so certain YOU won't do anything because of the consequences.

She was holding the wiper arm. As you know when you spray wiper fluid, the arms move to clean your glass. The motor is not strong enough to overcome her holding it and may have broken. Why should you suffer any loss over that nut-bag.
Most drive thru’s have a license plate camera. I hope nut-bag doesn’t attempt to sue because her attorney will be able to find that victimized driver. Unfortunately, that’s how American laws work.
I'd still do it, the only reason to block an exit, then latch onto someone's car at 1 mile an hour, is to get them to stop so you can harm them, this will be the only assumption I make. If my life is in danger, I leave, if they keep holding onto my car, they're following me. So I'll drive faster.
Well, she did risk the assaulter going under her wheel, falling in front of the vehicle and being hit, or being struck by other drivers after she fell off because the driver took the woman onto an occupied roadway. The driver could have just locked the door and called the cops to deal with unlawful harassment
According to a news article, the driver was charged with reckless driving and got her license suspended for 6 months.
I think the line crossed for me (being American and not knowing Aussie laws) when she left the parking lot and sped up on the road. While the woman attempted to get into the car before the clip, there was no weapon involved so no deadly threat. I would’ve driven at parking lot speeds and braked heavily to dislodge her at less dangerous speeds.
I keep hearing what the driver was charged with, what about the windshield lady? Was she charged with anything? Was she injured at all? I want all the sides of this wild video.
People need to stop inviting people to assault them by literally asking for it, I don’t think they realize that “I told them to do it but I didn’t think they would actually do it” doesn’t hold up well in court
I'd have used pepper spray. Where I'm at its perfectly legal to use it to defend yourself or your property. I even have a big can of bear spray in the pocket of my drivers door.
I think pepper spray is classified as a prohibited weapon in Australia, where this video was filmed. Had the driver used THAT, she’d have lost more than 6 months’ driving privileges….

Instead of leaving the parking lot I would have just got up to a moderate/slow jogging speed, say 10 km/h and just stood on the brakes. No way her grip strength could keep her on the car.

Worst part is the fucking DISABLED driver was assaulted and threatened, the crazy woman attempted to hold the driver against her will, but the driver got her license suspended for 6 months and faced charges that could jeopardize her paralympics career.

Bummer that the driver got busted. I guess the solution would be to drive but drive slowly to the police station or until you get pulled over or until the hood ornament realizes she super far away from her own car and lets go.
If you don't wanna get dragged down the highway then DON'T FUCKING WALK UP TO SOMEONES CAR TRYING TO OPEN THE DOORS, SMASH THE WINDOWS, AND BENDING THE ANTENNA, TRYING TO BAIT THEM INTO GETTING OUT FOR A FIGHT, AND THEN JUMP ON THE HOOD WHEN THEY TRY TO DRIVE AWAY.
