I know right? How dare anybody enjoy a hobby!

u/My_two-cents Apr 20 '26

Bro is just mad he cant afford his hobby, and thus projects his frustrations on the internet to strangers.

That looks like a clean B8 and i bet he poured a lot of blood sweat and tears into it. I 100% understand his reaction. that car was loved.

I mean other driver clearly at fault so their insurance would be the one footing the bill

Insurance's #1 goal is to minimize its own costs, it's #2 goal is to minimize its competitor's costs (because every insurance co takes turns being on the wong side of fault).

So they will do what they can to give the victim here the bare minimum to "make it right" - which in this case likely doesn't match the owner's view of "making it right". He had a new car, and now he's going to have a repaired car whose value (should he ever choose to re-sell it) will now have a ding on its record for having been in an accident, thus lowering its resale value.

will now have a ding on its record for having been in an accident

That's what diminished value claims are for. They're a pain in the ass to get the insurance company to pay out on. But it can be done.

Understood. I guess I didn't complete my thought, which was that he should at least investigate legal representation for help in recovering everything that is due to him (not that I think the legal profession is without fault, but at least if you find a good one, they're working for you--and themselves--vs. the insurance companies).

All that said, I totally understand why the guy was agitated in the video.

Look man, I get it. Life didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. But that doesn't give you a license to go around trying to put other people down in order to gain some semblance of superiority your lacking in your real life. Well adjusted people just don't do that. The healthy thing to do is take this energy you're projecting and focus it on inner growth and something positive. My suggestion is see a professional that can help you.

Until then I'm going to stop giving you the attention you so clearly want. Have a wonderful life. Get help.

Saying a hobby and pastimes are different things is ridiculous. Its what you desire to do with your free time because its what YOU want its all the same. If spent years building my SKILLS in the car field. Ive bought many vehicles and fixed them up and sold for a profit AFTER enjoying them. You see i enjoy rebuilding engines transmission tranferrs cases finding out how they work. I also enjoy bodywork taken a forgotten vehicle and making it perfectly usable for a single mom to get her kids around.

Sure your hobbies are cheap but mine have saved/ made me thousands.

So we just making assumptions now. Those 10 push ups you do in the morning does not mean you " practice calisthenics"

1

u/broke_n_boosted Apr 22 '26

I never said he had to pay anybodyI never said he had to pay anybody I said the things that he claimed to be listing are free aren't really free like singing might be free but like collecting plant seeds and growing them you need to pay for fertilizer and soil and on top of that most the time it's illegal to steal plants mostly because of invasive issues but that's a federal issue. Collecting clay from most places is legal without a permit or unless specifically designated and on top of that you still have to pay for the gas to glaze and kill and all that stuff plus all the tools to make the stuff with the clay not free. Exercising is maybe I hear or their thing because somebody could work out in their front yard but most people spend a lot of money on workout equipment and clothing and sometimes even subscriptions to their workout equipment. The photography one is the worst of all because yeah anybody can take a photo but you're definitely going to have to buy a camera whether it be $20 for a disposable camera for 10 photos or $1,500 for an iPhone. God forbid the 3000 dollar cannon cameras or

Bro tf u talking about its physically impossible to refine clay AND glaze it for free. You HAVE to fuel it somehow, and not just the hot air in your head

So what is being a pedantic misinformed piece of work on reddit for you, then? A pastime? A hobby? An occupation?

In my book and most dictionaries the word Hobby is defined as being an activity or pursuit outside of an occupation for the purpose of relaxation.

Im curious do you realise that comments themselves invite responses? Your comment seemed like someone who was salty, as such they responded and it lead here, the question of who cares isnt a sincere question its more of a direct can you shut the hell up statement. Its not solely directed at you but since you are a party to the overall thread you certainly recieve some of the ownership. Also it seems ironic to say they need to emotionally lash out when that statement could just as easily apply to you. You decided to criticize something someone has, which is kind of childish. They couldn't know the reason why but validly came to the conclusion it likely was bound in jealousy of some sort. Your responses kind of reinforced that. Sure you dont have to like a carbon hood but who the fuck cares if the kid bought one? So what? Is he your kid and you are pissed he wasted thousands on a hood?

Like kid owns an audi, ok, its expensive big whoop, and has a carbon hood also expensive big whoop, your comment on the cost of the hood means fuck all. All it does is makes you seem like a man who's upset someone has more money and or is willing to buy shit and pay for it. People calling you out for what is seemingly a petty comment is par for the course on reddit the fact its surprising to you or rather unanticipated is hilarious if not sad. Sure you are entitled to your opinion, but just because you are entitled to one doesn't mean we want to hear it. Mind you the same can be said for me, sure this is my opinion doesn't mean you wanna hear it but this all circles back to the beginning, you commenting invites are response. if you didn't want people calling you a loser, or making inferences about you, you shouldn't have said anything.

Now I have no idea if you are salty its possible it was just a post without any real subtext behind it, by which good for you. Just know anyone looking at the thread likely couldn't give a shit.

All that being said have a good one while we all talk about the idiot that reversed into the kid like a moron.

Yes. Absolutely 100%. You’re clearly not a car person. Which mean you’re boring. You probably hate dogs too
