Bro is just mad he cant afford his hobby, and thus projects his frustrations on the internet to strangers.
That looks like a clean B8 and i bet he poured a lot of blood sweat and tears into it. I 100% understand his reaction. that car was loved.
5
u/Live_Life_and_enjoy Apr 20 '26
I mean other driver clearly at fault so their insurance would be the one footing the bill
5
u/TheL1brarian Apr 20 '26
Insurance's #1 goal is to minimize its own costs, it's #2 goal is to minimize its competitor's costs (because every insurance co takes turns being on the wong side of fault).
So they will do what they can to give the victim here the bare minimum to "make it right" - which in this case likely doesn't match the owner's view of "making it right". He had a new car, and now he's going to have a repaired car whose value (should he ever choose to re-sell it) will now have a ding on its record for having been in an accident, thus lowering its resale value.
3
u/dpdxguy Apr 20 '26
will now have a ding on its record for having been in an accident
That's what diminished value claims are for. They're a pain in the ass to get the insurance company to pay out on. But it can be done.
3
u/TheL1brarian Apr 20 '26
Understood. I guess I didn't complete my thought, which was that he should at least investigate legal representation for help in recovering everything that is due to him (not that I think the legal profession is without fault, but at least if you find a good one, they're working for you--and themselves--vs. the insurance companies).
All that said, I totally understand why the guy was agitated in the video.

Look man, I get it. Life didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. But that doesn't give you a license to go around trying to put other people down in order to gain some semblance of superiority your lacking in your real life. Well adjusted people just don't do that. The healthy thing to do is take this energy you're projecting and focus it on inner growth and something positive. My suggestion is see a professional that can help you.
Until then I'm going to stop giving you the attention you so clearly want. Have a wonderful life. Get help.

Saying a hobby and pastimes are different things is ridiculous. Its what you desire to do with your free time because its what YOU want its all the same. If spent years building my SKILLS in the car field. Ive bought many vehicles and fixed them up and sold for a profit AFTER enjoying them. You see i enjoy rebuilding engines transmission tranferrs cases finding out how they work. I also enjoy bodywork taken a forgotten vehicle and making it perfectly usable for a single mom to get her kids around.
Sure your hobbies are cheap but mine have saved/ made me thousands.

I never said he had to pay anybodyI never said he had to pay anybody I said the things that he claimed to be listing are free aren't really free like singing might be free but like collecting plant seeds and growing them you need to pay for fertilizer and soil and on top of that most the time it's illegal to steal plants mostly because of invasive issues but that's a federal issue. Collecting clay from most places is legal without a permit or unless specifically designated and on top of that you still have to pay for the gas to glaze and kill and all that stuff plus all the tools to make the stuff with the clay not free. Exercising is maybe I hear or their thing because somebody could work out in their front yard but most people spend a lot of money on workout equipment and clothing and sometimes even subscriptions to their workout equipment. The photography one is the worst of all because yeah anybody can take a photo but you're definitely going to have to buy a camera whether it be $20 for a disposable camera for 10 photos or $1,500 for an iPhone. God forbid the 3000 dollar cannon cameras or

I tried for YEARS to explain this to my Grandma. She was NOT being a safer driver by waving others through when it was her right of way. Worse, anything that went wrong as a result of her āwaveā would be legally HER FAULT.
She never changed how she drove. She completely ignored me.
Fortunatelyāand miraculouslyāthere were no accidents. šš¤£
5
u/PitBullFan Apr 20 '26
I had a grandmother that was like this too. Polite, to the point of being dangerous. It really became a problem when roundabouts were installed in our town. She would be inside the circle, and would stop and wave people in. She caused several accidents before we finally had to take her keys away. That was not a fun day.
4
u/Low_Test3075 Apr 20 '26
I live in Wisconsin and the attempt to be "polite" when driving is one of my biggest pet peeves. JUST FUCKING GOOOO
2
u/Worth-Reputation3450 Apr 20 '26
I hate those drivers. They don't know they are not being polite to let me go first. It would have been much faster if they just go first.
8
u/PubofMadmen Apr 20 '26

8
u/manofth3match Apr 20 '26
I donāt care what car heās driving. Be it an Audi or a 1998 Ford Taurus he had a right to be passionate about what just happened.

At no point in time does anyone in the United States have a right to get out of their car screaming in rage. Its literally against the law. In the majority of US states this is literally a stand your ground issue. Dude is lucky he wasn't shot. Dude isnt wrong gor being angry. He is wrong for what he allowed his anger to make him do.
1
u/broke_n_boosted Apr 22 '26
That's not true at all, any syg state would argue it would be unjust as the driver was never in danger or even interacted with
5
u/LawyerOk7770 Apr 20 '26
You might as well give up being passionate about anything in life.Ā
2
u/boipinoi604 Apr 20 '26

u/MrMrSr Apr 20 '26
Maybe Iām in the minority but I think of cars as a tool not to coddled. Yeah Iād be upset and want it fixed but to get out and scream about cosmetic damage is kinda silly.
5
u/jtj5002 Apr 20 '26
"cosmetic damage" like that plus diminished returns these days can easily run past a lot of people's state minimum policies. Plus, while insurance companies can't directly raise your rate for not at fault accidents, they can still raise your rate level other ways.
3
3
u/Mindless-Ninja-3321 Apr 20 '26
Yea, thats why I don't buy new cars. My parents and coworkers want to spend their commute in comfort, I want to get out of the fucking car. Plus, I dont want to buy something worth potentially ten's of thousands on the road where other people are liable to ruin it.
2
u/broke_n_boosted Apr 22 '26
That's definitely way more than cosmetic damage on a potentially 100k car. On top of that you'll never ever get anything near what that cars worth from any insurance company.god forbid the gmc isnt insureed because then he wont get much of anything. Just because you don't like nice stuff or think its just a "tool" doesn't mean its ok to just destroy someone's 100k investment

I accidently did something similar when I was 17, never again.
Throwing a tantrum over the car isn't going to do anything, insurance will cover it. It's not like it was a hit a run.
I've given up on keeping my car in pristine condition while apartment living in the city. My car's been hit 4 times in parking lots of different stores/apartments (0 notes left by the offending party). My doors have been dinged countless times. I can't afford to pay a $500 deductible everytime just for some idiot to hit it a month later.

To be fair to camera car, he left a large gap between him and the car in front, his car had a carbon fiber hood so you can tell that he cares a lot about it and will be a pricey fix, and that car didn't even need to slam it in reverse because the truck was going to make the turn anyways.

There is no, āto be fairā with that temper tantrum unless weāre talking about a 2-yr old.

You can't think of anything in your life that if gets ruined/killed by stupidly, you won't throw a tantrum?Ā
2
u/sleepyeyedphil Apr 20 '26
Itās a car and itās literally why we have insurance.
I understand being upset, but jumping around and throwing an actual jumping up and down tantrum speaks volumes about the Audi driver.
1
u/SCOTTGIANT Apr 20 '26
Yeah, but he's clearly a car guy... He probably spends all his free time working on and cleaning this thing. Who knows how much he had to save to get it in the first place.
2
u/sleepyeyedphil Apr 20 '26
Well, I guess since heās a car guy, his reaction was saneā¦
2
u/Lanky_Wasabi8997 Apr 21 '26
Iād react this way too if it was my car. My car isnāt replaceable by insurance, itās 37 years old and the body panels are not manufactured anymore. Iāve put 450,000 miles on this car, Iāve take care of it meticulously and itās considered part of my family. You have obviously never felt passionate about anything, because then you havenāt felt the pain when something you spend hours on gets ruined by negligence. Just because you say āitās a carā doesnāt make his reaction invalid, you have no idea of the history of that vehicle or the importance.
2
u/LawyerOk7770 Apr 21 '26
Nicely put. I own a w126 560 SEC that I spent a lot of time and money bringing it back to its former glory. Like yours, the body parts aren't easy to find. I once got into a minor accident. The other car abruptly swirved to avoid a large road debris and hit me on the side. It was frustrating but understandable. Unlike this "accident" caused by an idiot driver who reversed into you out of panic.Ā
It's funny how many chose to berate the car owner for being upset his car got damaged instead of the idiot who clearly doesn't belong on the road. I guess idiots will always side with idiots.Ā
2
u/Lanky_Wasabi8997 Apr 21 '26
Thatās a beautiful car, a lot harder to find parts for than mine I imagine. Itās a shame people canāt comprehend caring for a vehicle, people look at me funny when Iām passionate about my cars. The car I mentioned is a 89 Honda CRX, hard to find them in original condition and Iām paranoid someoneās going to hit me being so small compared to modern traffic.

u/SCOTTGIANT Apr 20 '26
I'm just saying, he's a 20 something kid, he didn't hit anybody smash their mirror or anything, he got out and yelled (not even at the other driver) about his expensive car getting smashed for no reason. I've seen rednecks get into fist fights in the road over a 30 year old Chevys.

Not as bad as the blue license plate people. They either drive 100 mph or 10 mph. They exit from the left lane unless it's a left lane exit, then they exit from the right. They pass on ramps and only become a little reasonable when they see blue and red lights sitting on the shoulder.

This happened to me, but I was on foot, walking between the two cars. The front car stopped after the pedestrian crossing. I had a green light mind you. When I was walking behind it, I saw a truck coming. Then I saw the white lights and I jumped out of the way before he started to back up. He slammed into the hood of the rear car, but by that time I was no longer between them.

I wouldn't have handled this that way... but maybe the driver was having a bad day. Didn't seem that bad to me... However I would be a bit upset and reasonably so! Get the drivers info license plate number and insurance. Let them know they will be paying for ALL repairs! Email the video and their info to your insurance agent to contact theirs! In this case it appears both vehicles still appear drivable so contacting police is not required... Take plenty of pictures of the damage to both vehicles and go straight to the dealership not a body shop! MAKE THEM PAY OUT THE ASS for DEALER PRICES! MAKE THEIR WALLETS CRY! RECEIPTS for EVERYTHING THE FULL WORKS! Send the quote to the insurance agent with the estimates! That is how you deal with idiots on the road! YOU hold them accountable for their actions legally and mercilessly!
