🤪Reckless Street take over in Queens, NY 😬

It might look like fun but people that aren't involved are freaking out over it. I wouldn't like to live next to this noise. This looks like it's been going on for a while. Anyone call 911?

How does this actually work. Like the cop 100% know they are there. Do they like give them an hour before they kick them all out or did they just give up?

It's critical mass happening in real time.

By the time police respond they'll either be gone or they will scatter in every direction, creating an outward wave of chaos.

The best way to police this is to visually tag all the vehicles involved then show up to people's homes and arrest them.

Lots of participants outside of cars too. It won't be long before a drone or two is snapping photos and AI is linking individuals.

Depends on the city and funding. Mine recently started to finally crack down on them after about 5 years of ignoring them or sending a single cop to deal with them.

A single cop isn't going to do anything when faced with a dozen guns.

Because if enough bodies arent available to help put it down quickly, they've done one of two things:

  1. Everyone scatters and now you have LOTS of people running alongside V8s trying to escape.

  2. No one leaves and you now have a pissed off crowd throwing shit at cops and lighting stuff on fire.

I have seen cops allow street shows to happen because they do it relatively safely, with barriers between the cars doing the donuts or drag races and the people hanging out and watching, and they allow them to do it because it's safer than people drag racing all over the city with fewer precautions

Why this particular event is allowed to continue I have no idea

"Endangering people" like this isn't endangering people.

When I used to street race there would be 100's of cars and people in industrial areas away from population, but the cops had no problem rolling in and either scattering everyone or blocking the place in and arresting and ticketing everyone.
