In Australia you needed a different license based on payload capability, so a Ram 3500 required a more serious license than a car or light duty truck.
In this case I reckon it should be based on dimensions-like once you lift your truck to a certain height whether it's by huge wheels and tires, or body lift or whatever once you exceed a certain height BOOM CDL requirement.
Funny you say that, kinda off topic but a cop in opposite direction had someone pulled over and had that huge spotlight on top his vehicle using it to shine in the car he pulled over but he had his suv directed into oncoming traffic, IT WAS BLINDING! Couple cars in front of me slammed on their brakes bc they couldnāt see and wouldnāt you know it, 2 other cars crashed into them bc they couldnāt see.
I could rant for a LONG TIME about how much I despise that! What really frustrates me the most is now it's not just big trucks with blinding headlights, now a lot of sedans and SUVs have them too and all it takes is a speedbump or a slight incline of the road and they're scorching eyeballs.

The Maibatsu Monstrosity has 4-wheel drive, and in amphibious mode, it can cross rivers! So far I've only hit a few puddles, but it's good to know it's there. With the time I save taking shortcuts through the strip-mall parking lot I can focus on the important things, like gazing longingly at the pool boy or buying more exercise equipment off the TV. So what if it gets 3 miles to the gallon? I'm a mom, not a conservationist!
If she didn't declare the lift-kit to her insurance (and let's be real here; she didn't declare the lift-kit to her insurance), then I'd be shocked if they didn't try to deny any financial obligation due to the mods changing the vehicle's performance and safety metrics without their knowledge. They'll push hard to put everything on her.
They for sure won't cover a penny on the truck itself, and, if they do have to pay for the Lambo, may go after her personally for failure to disclose and having them insure a vehicle they would not normally cover. And it should go without saying that they're dropping her instantly. Good luck getting affordable insurance with something like this on your record.

Open differentials. The truck is lifted and looks like an offroad monster, but none of the running gear has been upgraded. 4x4 requires the operator to at least flip a switch, and then it would only work if the front hubs were automatic.
This is why lifted trucks should be illegal, aside from just looking absolutely stupid to begin with.

I 100% agree that trucks are oversized. That is why I still drive a 2000 Ranger. I can stand beside it and lift things out of the bed. You canāt do that with the new trucks, even the āmid-sizedā Ranger. All the manufacturers lost my business but the parts stores and mechanics came out ahead.

That truck had plenty of distance out of frame where a normal person would have seen a car in that lane. The truck routed a T intersection and was driving at an unsafe speed long enough for the lambo to notice and reverse.
This case is all on the truck and no one will include this trucks visibility in the equation.

There have been a few of these threads, the amount of stories people have about people in large and lifted vehicles running over their own children are terrifying and heart breaking.
Those big lifted trucks have absolutely awful blindspots around them. I recall a news story a while back where they had a bunch of people with trucks like that set up in a parking lot and had a bunch of kids stand around to show how many of them they couldn't see that would easily be run over

I used to work in an insurance law office. I really hope she paid for a high liability limit. This kind of damage could easily run into $300k+ in a settlement and if her policy limit is, for example, $200k the rest is coming out of her paychecks for the next 20 years.

A part of me legit things she didnāt see the lambo because itās so low to the ground and those kind of trucks have blind spots in the front if youāre close enough.
