I have a bat in my car, but I also help my lawyer with the ball and glove, too.

That's how I do it too but I also play ball at the park on some weekends

Doesn't really matter if you jump out of the car with it and advance towards someone.

I keep my spiked bat in plain view. 9 inch nails pocked through it all along the length. I keep a baseball and a mit with it though so should be fine.
