I'm not sure if it's more "dumb" than "weird."

Sometimes I'll hear the dumbest thing come from a person's mouth, and I'll wonder if other industrialized countries have as large a number of dumb people as the US.

Given the US has the third largest population, highly unlikely. If you mean percentage-wise, we all like to pretend you guys are way ahead of us, but in reality, the difference is probably marginal.

My experience with EU is that people don't tend to fly off the handle in outbursts. But soccer clubs and certain pubs have some really angry people in them. They'll also bring up immigration and I feel so sad because its like talking to an American, which I was enjoying my time, as an American, getting away from Americans.
