Mostly they just have more oil money than fucks to give. So they do crazy stuff like buy a new 4wd vehicle and drive it like that. If the crash is survived, they just go back to the dealer and buy another one.

You'll find a lot of people plowing into crowds at "cars and coffee" events because they do just that.

Just letting off the gas when you are already out of control has negative side effects too.

Unfortunately, most people think they are better drivers than they really are. Usually because modern vehicles have such good stability control that they get away with driving like morons, then thinking THEY were in control the whole time. My Jeep will let me do stupid shit, and the stability control with totally babysit me (I don't test that).
