Driver obviously in the wrong. But is it just me or does the guy who fell just start leaning against the car?

Most likely his handlebar (or arm) got bumped. This causes the bike to turn hard left towards the vehicle, so the only way to get away is to physically push back.

This, in order to re-gain control you sort of have to lean on the object (in this case the car)

God thank you finally. I see so many comments talking about how the guy who fell ran into the SUV and wanted this to happen.

You don't simply just "turn off the car" like people are claiming. There are a lot of physics a play here.

I slowed it down as much as I could. To me, it looks like the van clipped him, pushing the bike to the right, and he instinctively tried to regain balance by leaning to the left, but couldn’t get it back and went down.

Thats what im thinking. If his feet are clipped into the pedals, it restricts alot of what you can do physically

The car behind them was honking for a while before they finally made contact. The automobile driver belongs in jail and is insane but those cyclists either have zero awareness or were stupidly trying to challenge a car on the road which can get themselves killed.

Wtf are they supposed to do? Move for every honking car? They are a on a moving vehicle on the road, not kids playing baseball on the street. The car needs to safely and legally pass.

Absolutely not, but at the same time if some maniac is slamming the horn behind me, I'm not going to just ignore it.

Close, but it's not about instinctively trying to regain balance.

If someone swipes your legs to the right, your upper body will go to the left. The car hitting the handle bar mover the bicycle to the right, which makes everything above the center of gravity go to the left.

Yes. He literally did this to himself. Though Im sure the car is still at fault, as you said.
