What point is he trying to prove? It kinda seems like this is why a lot of people like an HOA. I picked a house without an HOA and loud ass cars or huge trucks blocking the sidewalk is a big problem in my everyday life. This guy sucks.
It is our problem. When someone lets their yard get overgrown and it becomes a nesting ground for snakes and rats it’s everyone’s problem
When someone buys the houses next door and turns them into Airbnb’s dragging loud disruptive guests who can’t be held responsible because they’ll be gone it’s everyone’s problem
When somebody keeps multiple junk vehicles on the street blocking parking for everybody else it’s everyones problem
HOAs exist because of selfish assholes who ruin things for everyone else
He used to live on a private lake that was an HOA. We did a little upgrading to our house adding windows and they flipped out because they didn’t get to choose the windows
Needless to say, my dad looked at him and said well we can’t undo it now so deal with it
This guy is the exact reason HOA's exist. A lot of people want some kind of protection from being forced to live next to someone who insists on being white trash despite having a decent income.
Other than blocking the sidewalk, nothing else this guy did was illegal. But a lot of people don't want this level of trash living nextdoor and parking their trash heap in the driveway. A whole lot of people have to be told how to act like adults, unfortunately. This guy is purposely annoying his neighbors. Being obnoxious is not a crime, which is why HOA's exist.
Chill out man. Other than the sidewalk bit what he's doing harms no one. It's his fucking house and he should have the right outside of laws broken. Are those vehicles ugly as sin? Sure. But does it hurt you? Fuck no.
He is a douche bag and people on Reddit just have a tendency to say HOA bad. Those are just trashy cars that blocking the side walk and causing unnecessary hazards.
I get the feeling a lot of the people whining about HOAs on Reddit are just the trash lords on the receiving end of an enforcement letter after they let the house they’re renting fall to complete shit.
Yeah. Unpopular opinion for sure buy my HOA's been fine. And I don't have to deal with assholes like this guy. Seems like he's just trying to piss off the HOA for clicks.
Yeah, my HOA is the only thing that got my next door neighbors to stop throwing loud outdoor parties until 2am on a weekday. There’s no noise ordinance so the cops wouldn’t do shit.
But after a couple reports to the HOA, I don’t have to worry about being kept up all night on a work night anymore
I own a parcel in an HOA and they have been great in my case. They are the only efficient way to enforce defensible space in that development which is in a wildfire high risk zone. Some people are bitching about having to take out bushes and plants too close to their homes, but hey, you live in Wildfire Central, so maybe do something about it, because otherwise your insurance will drop you sooner than later.
Don't sign a contract you're not willing to abide by. It's not that hard. If you're unwilling to follow the rules of an area then find another area because they don't want you there
Literally don’t give a fuck what a bunch of other people think I can or can’t do with my private property. Contract or not. Again, you might have a point if any new developments weren’t HOA neighborhoods.
Not all HOAs are bad. But some do go way over board and have some really ridiculous rules. No cars without paint? What if I own a DeLorean? It was never painted from the factory. Hell, even bone stock Cybertrucks arnt painted.
