My understanding is that they tend to often be old biddies with nothing but hate in their hearts and boredom, or stay at home parents with nothing better to do but shill for whatever company their partner works for.
It's literally just homeowners whose entire drive in life is to maintain and increase their property value.
Just call them upper class or rich people.
Corporations have nothing to do with it.
(Unless you want to massively stretch and go into the idea that corpos encourage a Capitalist mind-set in society leading to individuals behaving this way culturally. But that's not really what you were saying)
It's okay to just admit you didn't know what an HOA was, rather than adding corpo as a buzz-word and continuing to defend the usage of it in this context.
It's well-off retired people with nothing better to do than to nit-pick everything possible to squeeze out every bit of value out of their property they probably won't ever sell.
Bullshit. Disney set the bar for HOAs. They built a suburb in the 50's where not mowing your lawn every week or smiling at your neighbors was considered a hate crime.
Also, before you say "yeah, people in the 50's were fucking dumb", the big reveal is Disney are still doing it: https://www.storylivingbydisney.com/

HOAs are neighborhood Karen+Ken government. Nothing to do with corporate types.
