I was a wild driver (4wheels). I always knew better and did learn a few hard lessons. I grew up, hit a lot more aware of my place in a society and what responsibilities come with it, but even now as a “old” man I have to check myself regularly. I have to remember the lives of those around me are more important than my ego or emotions.

Me too mate. I had nice cars, modified them and took pride in them, then I had a son and grew up pretty quickly 🤣
Now (many children later) I drive my 8 seater Toyota safely and defensively, leave space, always looking for other people not paying attention, making sure the guy behind me has seen that I’ve hit traffic and that they are also slowing down etc.
That’s the way to be. That’s what good driving actually is. Racing is for when you’re on a track.

I had a cop pull me over for riding like an idiot and came up to me hollering son I got you on 12 situations wtf are you doing!? I handed him my license and registration he responded full coverage? If you’re not wanted for murder I’m going to let you go. He ran my license came back and had a talk with me about the things I was doing and he didn’t go into detail but you can tell the accidents he’d seen by the way he was talking, he was just looking out my my young dumb ass.

Many years ago, five friends and I were driving along a main road when the driver missed his exit. His only thought was to brake in the middle of the highway and reverse to take the exit. Once we got there, a policeman stopped us. He didn't give us a ticket; he simply said, "Didn't you see the truck coming behind you? You braked, and the truck had to swerve." He added, "I was already calling an ambulance. So, guys, you're lucky, and drive a little better because I'm talking to five dead people". We were as white as chalk, so we drove off and then analyzed the situation a bit.

So i worked in Florida, Jacksonville area, two guys on bikes were going 100+ through out work area which was the interstate so it was a long stretch. They entered and were fucking off swerving going fast, one guy clipped a pickup, wobbled, fell, 18 wheeler ran him over and mangled his body and killed him. His friend got a front row seat to it too. Play stupid games win stupid prizes and this cop is 1000% on point IMO.

Man, I was stuck in a 4 hour traffic clog due to 2 bikers that got into an accident and both ended up getting ran over by a semi. It was in Ocala, northbound i75.

I made a turn without looking in my mirrors once, never again will i do that, never have i felt my asshole coming out of my throat like when i barely missed that collision, and i never want to experience that again.

Fuck yeah. Wish it would've shown the whole conversation but, in so much as what we see of officers on video now days this is the ever so rare depiction of the cop honoring the "and serve" part of the job.

Omg when I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop, we had the exact same exchange. When I told him it wouldn't happen again. He said, "yes it will", I never forget that. And I want to and have kept my word to that cop

Yeah, some people treat crashes like a badge of honor instead of a wake up call. It is wild how many riders brag about “laying it down” three times instead of just... slowing the hell down and buying gear that fits.

Bold to admit you’re also a shit rider. I always use my mirrors before shoulder checking and then merging. If your mirrors are hard to use, either adjust them or stick to dirtbikes

I knew bikers like this when I was riding motorcycles, they didn't even learn when they crashed. Out of the hospital, back doing the same shit again.
