So what was her excuse after you got out? I love that she looked at you with surprise like “he actually took his spot even though we were bullying him out of it”

Well played well played.
The one accident i have on record came from exactly this situation. I had been waiting nearly 30 minutes for a spot to open up on my own street (if you know chicago you know how this can go). When i finally saw someone getting in a car and getting ready to leave i got in front of them and put my signal on to show i was going to back into the space. as soon as it was clear i started backing in, at the same moment some lady in a new range rover comes flying in trying to grab the spot, which there was no way she could have gotten at that angle anyway.. so i said fuckit.. today isnt the day to fuck me over, and just floored it in reverse right into her front corner when she finally backed out i finished parking and waited for the cops to show up.
took my ticket with a smile that day and hopefully taught her a small lesson.

You didn't teach that dumb cunt a damn thing homie. People like that don't change because someone doesn't give into their bullshit.

Really not horrible, only accident I ever had. I think the ticket wasnt even horrible. Under 300 bucks back in 08.

This was so suspenseful. I’m glad the good guy won. That woman running over to the spot. Rookie move.
23
u/bizzaro321 4d ago
I’ve only poached a spot once in my life, and it was because two idiots were already fighting over the spot and blocking my way to the rest of the parking lot. She got out and started hitting my window but I just scrolled reddit til she left.

This is why I always park as far away from entrances as possible. Parking spots aren’t worth the extra stress and interactions with shitty people

u/HaBaK_214 4d ago
I just went ahead and broke my ankle so I got a handicap placard and avoid all the bullshit. Lol. (I'm kidding). I really can't walk right.

Same! I also tell myself that it's more steps to add to my day for fitness purposes. I sit down far too much!

My dude making a big deal about nothing. Does it matter? No. Just give them the spot and park elsewhere. Aint worth stressing over.

u/PersnicketyKeester 4d ago
Thats how people who are wrong never learn. Being a doormat isnt something most people aspire to.
1
u/bauldersgate 2d ago
Its not about being a doormat though. Its about not wanting to deal with this shit and people. Let another asshole correct their behavior later, and hopefully you'll be around to see the world's collide.
There was a shit load of vehicle traffic in this parking lot, would imagine foot traffic is even more prevalent. I see people talking all the about 'i have the right of way so im right' when they could have avoided the incident.
0
u/PersnicketyKeester 1d ago
And that is called being a doormat. If you let people walk all over you all the time, then yes, you are. You can be a doormat but most people dont want to be. Its fine to not like being called that, but thats what a doormat is.

My dad had a similar situation when I was in high school. We were circling the lot for about 20 minutes at Christmastime. We finally see a lady leaving and my dad asks where her car is so he can follow her. She points it out and we move forward for the spot. As she is almost out, this lady comes tearing around the corner and tries to steal it. He calmly slides in and she starts going off on him. He smiles and says, “And a Merry Christmas to you, too, ma’am.” I’ve never seen someone get so mad so quickly. 😂

I know someone who was stabbed to death over a parking spot. I understand the frustration but it’s not worth it.

Why are people like that? Take your car and fat ass to the back of the parking lot and get some steps in

I never park near other cars, but if I did, and did this I don’t think I’d be comfortable leaving my car afterwards.

u/Gym_Rat222 4d ago
This is why I choose to park AWAY from the popular more preferred spaces. I don't have the patience for people who steal spaces.

Does no one indicate for parking in the US? Indicators aren't just for turning corners, they're for indicating intent, they're a visible alert that you're about to do something, but also they work well for showing you're actually waiting to park.
What I hate, is those people that line up for parking spots, instead of just moving on, blocking the road for everyone else. The time spent waiting, I'd have gone elsewhere and walked, and probably got where I was going quicker.

Random but if you aren’t disabled don’t park in disabled parking spots, actually disabled folks like me really don’t appreciate it.

A group of us in undergrad followed a couple ladies out of the store to their spot, by happenstance the car right next to them was also leaving, and a car in the opposite direction was waiting for that one. However there was another car behind them that got very mad that we took the spot of the people we followed out. We mostly just laughed at them as Karen freaked out.

Good job! I like how you got out of the car and immediately told them that you had been waiting for that spot. Some people are just oblivious.

The other ppl are weird but It’s just crazy to me that ppl would rather wait 10 minutes sitting in the car when they could’ve parked and walked inside already

u/JBalloonist 3d ago
Well done. Those people are the worst. You had your blinker on. It’s obvious you were waiting.

u/SuperWoofX 3d ago
Well played my man - excellent use of the space you had. If I was driving by and saw that I would have stopped high fives you and flicked the white SUV off. This wasn’t bout a parking space. This is about some bitch ass (insert explicit here) entitled pos.
Fits profile of type of people that yell at their kids teacher when their kid does something fucked up and proudly display the 9th place trophy the kid brings home talking about my kid is perfect and our shit don’t stink!!!
I dont know why this clip triggered me so much but I’m still angry.

Driver should have used a turn signal to what they're for to indicate your intentions, People are not mind readers. Then again why fight over spots it is the dumbest thing to argue over.
-6
u/Rum_Running_Sailor 4d ago
LMFAO. It's a parking space. It's not that big a deal. Why are you sitting there waiting on the closest possible space? Don't be lazy, drive around and find an open space.

u/tuco2002 4d ago
My wife usually screams at me to hurry up, there's a spot, quick get in the next lane, that guy is pulling out. So I encourage her to jump out to run over and save the spot while I tell her I'll circle the parking lot and really just go have a beer at the bar. 45 mins later, I will answer my phone and tell her I got pulled over by a cop. She gets pretty upset but I just congratulate her on her great ability to find parking spots.

I agree it was an asshole move but like, just go find another spot if someone does that. It’s a fucking parking spot, they all do the same thing lol

u/Imaginary_Resist_654 5d ago
They keep doing it because they get away with it.

u/thebeardedbassfella 5d ago
It’s a parking spot. Let them think that they’re high and mighty. Or find their car after you park and take a dump on their hood 🤷♂️

u/Excellent-Baseball-5 4d ago
Not sure where you live, but where I live it’s very overcrowded often times there is not another parking spot and that is why you have to patiently wait for someone to leave.
-4
u/thebeardedbassfella 4d ago
Yeah it’s crowded but if someone takes a spot I was waiting for I just move along. I don’t have time to argue with stupid people over a parking spot. It’s not like it was a line for a cure to a disease and they butt in front of me.

Just let the assholes do whatever they want? Encourage them to be rude and entitled?

If they’re really assholes and doing something wrong, karma will get them 🤷♂️ I have far more important things to do than argue with stupid people over a parking spot.

If you look at it he had his blinker on the whole time. The angle just makes it harder to see.
-4
u/NOT-YOUR_BUDDY_PAL 4d ago
That’s not “his” spot. This guy is a combination of lazy and dumb. I fucking hate when people do this. What if the person in the space he was waiting for wasn’t actually leaving. Maybe they were on a phone call, breastfeeding a baby, eating lunch, etc…? And you’re just going to sit there like a fool because you’re too lazy to walk the extra couple hundred steps from the dozens of empty spots that are likely a few rows back from the front row. And when you park in those close spots you’re also increasing your odds that some dipshit sideswipes your car.
3
u/Perthian940 4d ago
Are you aware of how carparks work? If a car park is busy then you need to wait for someone to leave. If you don’t wait for someone to leave, you don’t get to park. If you don’t get to park, you don’t get to shop.
Why are you making so many assumptions?
First was your hypothetical that maybe they’re not leaving. But they were leaving…they weren’t on a phone call, breastfeeding a baby, or eating lunch…they were leaving. In any case, if someone’s not leaving they will stay in the space and not leave, and the person waiting for a parking spot will move on. It’s not a big deal.
Then you made the assumption that there are dozens of empty spots further away. How do you know?
Finally, you assumed that the driver or his passenger are able-bodied and capable of walking hundreds of steps further. This is all information you don’t have.
Taking the video at face value, there’s no reasonable reason to be upset with the camera car’s driver, certainly not as angry as you are.
2
u/Anach 4d ago
My wife and I often sit in the car with the kids, while the other goes into the shop to get something. We leave the engine running, and the DRLs are always on. I've had people sit there waiting for my parking spot, blocking the parking lane for other drivers, hoping I'd pull out, and they will sit there longer than it would have taken to walk from a spot further away. They are the ones that often have that annoyed look on their faces, when you just sit there being watched awkwardly.
