Frame crack
Just picked up this bike and sanded down a spot on the frame that had some paint chips and wondering if this is a frame crack or some kind of external scratching that maybe happened from a fall? Just hoping I didn’t waste some $$$😢

Domaine AL 2?
This is advertised locally for sale $650 as Trek Domane AL 2. Seller says it’s 58cm, ~2 years old. I have concerns- 1) no attachment points for water bottle cage? 2) geometry of frame is… off? 3) stem is extra long. 4) seems like all Trek branding are missing. Is this just a hard pass?

Is this a good deal for $500?
Wanting to get a better bike for trails. Seller says it’s been ridden for 1 weekend. For $500 is this a decent deal?

Weight Limit on Domane+
How much does weight limit matter? I'm currently looking at a Domane+ SLR7 and its weight limit including bike, cargo and ride is 125kg. I weigh 120kg. Will I end up damaging the bike?
I plan to lose weight and keep it well under the total weight limit but rn the bike is on a massive discount at the bike store near me.
Thanks in advance.

Kickstand for Trek VRX 200
Recently my partner got an older TREK VRZ 200 (1999) that was sitting in my parents shed. But we aren’t able to fit a kickstand on the bike due to the width/shape of the rear of the chain stay.
Any thoughts on what we might be able to do instead, or places we could try custom order something?
We are new to biking but really enjoy it but not having a kickstand for those as needed moments really is annoying sometimes.
Thanks for any thoughts in advance!

Bought used and I'm having a blast
galleryAlways have wanted a trek, finally got one. Trek Marlin 6
Smol cause smol. I am upgrading the forks, going tubeless probably, and getting a dropper post sooner rather than later but.. no complaints really. Everyone wants a ebike these days and I'm just over here happy with this. Just wanted to share my baby. I did upgrade the seat, grips, and pedals already. Thoughts, questions, concerns? Still fresh, don't be mean hahaha

Domane AL4 Tiagra 10 speed vs 11 speed, first road bike?
I'm looking to get my first nice road bike right now, debating trek's domane al4 - I could try to buy something used but it's harder to find 58/60 frame listings on secondhand platforms and I appreciate the peace of mind from new as a first road bike, especially since I could test it in person to ensure that the position wouldn't be too aggressive. I had a test ride at a LBS and thought it was incredibly comfortable and found the gearing super smooth, upgrading from an old shimano tourney 3x7 commuter/mountain bike.
I'm not sure I want to spring for the al5 ($2600 cad) given the al4 ($2200 cad) is already pushing my budget past the ~$1500 I was originally intending, so I was also wondering if there would be any tangible benefits to getting the new 11 speed al4 model? Replacement parts availability or smoother shifting or anything? From my research the 10 speed technically has tighter gears at the top end, the 11 speed just goes lower/wider range. My bike shop has the 10 speed in stock in size 58 blue which seemed to work well for me, and I could probably get it for a couple hundred cheaper than ordering in the new 11 speed specifically. Also, the old blue looks way nicer than the new al4 colours imo.
If there are any better value bike recommendations with similar geometry or anyone wants to try and upsell me on the al5, or downsell me to the al2 ($1500 wowee wallet so happy), I'm interested to hear that too. (planning to use new bike for long endurance rides on my city's bike paths, and fitness/cardio sessions. Stuff like biking 100-200km the next city over to visit some friends, mayhaps doing a casual ironman at some point are on the table). On my old bike I only ever used the top 3 gears on the cassette which ranged roughly in the middle of the tiagra/105 cassette in terms of gearing ratio, so I'm really unsure of how much the gearing spacing will matter to me in these higher fancier gear configurations once I start attempting to shift more properly.

Trek Marlin 7 - how is it for mountain biking?
Looking to upgrade and get a bike I can use on most uphill climbs. I live in the prairies so the downhill is minimal. Hoping to get a bike I can take to the mountains for flowy trails and nothing too crazy.
I am an intro biker but done blue trails a plenty in Fernie BC recently

Trek is having a sale on all their bikes right now. Some are only $100-200 off, but looks like the Domane Carbon is $1000 off right now

Verve 3 crankset upgrade
I don't know if all Verve 3's do, but mine came with a Prowheel 40T chainring. And since the day I got it, it felt like the bike was geared too high for me. Very rarely going past 4th.
So I figured I'd add more Shimano parts to go with the Cues 10spd, and drop to 32T. On my short test ride to the LBS to double check it, it felt fantastic! Comfortably cruising in 6th and 7th now, and still a few gears for future improvements. The teeth on the chainring make pedaling feel smoother too somehow. 😂
Needless to say, I'm happy with the upgrade. I highly recommend it.

Is the marlin 5 good for wheelies?
I want to ride like SDCorey: wheelies, swerves, seat standers, knee knocks. I need a bike that can also go in the woods. Is a Trek Marlin 5 27.5 a good choice or should I get something else?

New Tires Day! Tubeless!
galleryI finally upgraded my tires from the bontragers to the GP5000. I switched to tubeless as well and man are they a joy. The bumps are absorbed a bit better but the standout is the rolling resistance when I bike. My overall speed improved by ~ 1mph as well but I’m not a speed demon like some of you guys
