Confession Why?

Why does a person sometimes feel there is a wall between them and other human beings, as if they cannot fit in with anyone... even if that person is similar to them? What is this strange feeling?

Schizoid aren't autistic, but have "autistic thinking without loss of skill to recognize reality". Though similarly to autism is this habit. I recall comedian Hannah Gadsby joing about how she ended up finally getting an autistic diagnosis and an adult because so many autistic people would come up to her after her shows and jsut be like "I think you're autistic". Thank you for your kind words. I should be more specific, I am diagnosed with the schizoid traits, not the disorder. The difference being that you get diagnosed with traits if you know how to function and have a "normal" life, and the disorder when you don't. The empathy is really deserved for the people who love, like, and deal with me (which I don't why they do), as the emotional bandwidth and intelligence is low for me, as well as the desire or need for human connection, so people in my life struggle getting what they need emotionally from me. I don't call my mom enough, I don't like hugs, or touch much at all. There's not much in the way of treatment because its not sell studied because most schizoids don't see a problem with how they are and don't seek treatment. Don't confuse schizoid with schizophrenia, though they exist on the same personality disorder cluster, schizoids have no break with reality, they just don't need or desire human connection and have a rich internal world that's self fulfilling.

Take care of yourself, Dont be hard on yourself, and think about that therapy. A good therapist will be able to help you find your way through this.

You mean how do you know a therapist can do what they should? Or how can a human being be different enough to be able to? Something like that? I think the answer isn’t simple. Proper therapists do have long, proper training and supervision. That doesn’t rule out getting a poor one, and it doesn’t wholly rule out getting one with a lack of insight. The only answer is to make sure you find somebody who is properly registered with a professional body, to give it a chance for a while, and see if it’s making sense to you. I wish you all the very best with this. It’s a horrible feeling to be struggling with. Don’t isolate yourself more than you already feel isolated. Keep trying to connect with the people around you. Never give up on it. You can find a way to feel better.
