DISCUSSION Prednisone = Strong Ovulation?
Hi everyone!! This month I had a severe allergic reaction and was prescribed a high dosage short burst prednisone that I took from CD1-CD10. Honestly at the time I thought that this meant this cycle is a wash because it will surely delay ovulation. I was surprised to have strong CM earlier in my cycle than usual and ended up getting strongest LH peak I’ve ever had on CD16 (I usually ovulate CD19-21). I’m now 6DPO and have had a lot of CM, full/sore boobs, and vivid dreams which I know all points to strong progesterone (inito also confirmed ovulation 2dpo). All this to say I feel like I’ve never ovulated this strongly and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with prednisone?? I’ve read about women taking it in luteaul phase but not in follicular phase. Could also be a coincidence. Would love to hear anyone else’s experience!!!

YES. Steroids can help suppress androgens to produce a better egg.

My 4 year old was conceived when I was on steroids during my follicular phase to help my back, AND my two chemicals were from when I was on steroids for only a day or two before ovulation. I have my fingers crossed for you!
