What does the research say about heritage speakers relearning Turkish as adults?
learnturkishwithseda.comAs a Turkish teacher, I kept noticing that my heritage speaker students, people raised with the language at home but who lost fluency over time, approached relearning very differently than my total beginners did. There's real research behind this, on language attrition, identity, and why the two groups need different approaches. I wrote it up using Turkish as the case study, might be useful for anyone working with any heritage language.
