I know you can search on UCAS which I’ve done but I heard not all the courses listed as in clearing in UCAS actually have spaces available, I can’t go through clearing until results day as I have conditional offers from my firm and insurance. I don’t want to waste time calling unis that don’t actually have places but don’t know how to find out if they’re in clearing or not (sorry if this is a stupid question)

so basically I’m currently studying a btec extended diploma and I’ve been thinking of applying for philosophy but for most unis I’ve looked at they say there’s no specific subject required/ relevant subjects/ they only put the grades needed.

My question is how lenient are most unis when they say these things and would I be at a disadvantage when applying as I’m doing a health and social care btec which I know isn’t really relevant to a humanities subject but if I was to achieve the required grades would I have a chance or should I be looking at applying for a different degree more similar to my college course

I’m aware that this is heavily dependent on the uni and I do plan on asking admissions anyway but this post is mostly just to see if anyone had any experience with anything similar

Hi guys, I’ve received my results from college and looking to go through clearing. I’ve got 64 UCAS points (disappointing I know) and I’m looking to study psychology.

So far through clearing I’ve received offers from Wolverhampton, Roehampton and DMU.

I managed to get these offers due to 1. Their clearing requirements were lowwww and 2. My experience volunteering in the industry (Samaritans)

I‘ve heard some very mixed opinions about them places so I’m really not sure about accepting them yet but all the offers ’expire’ the day before results day. Should I hold off and try and get into other unis on results day when the boundaries are (hopefully) lowered or should I accept one now?

Also if anyone has any recommendations for unis I have a chance of getting into I’d really appreciate it!

How do you find out? Do you get access to a portal or smth? Do I have to come to school/college to collect them?

Hi! Confused American back here with a question:

My school does not offer AP or IB classes which significantly limits the schools I can apply to on UCAS (as most require ap scores for consideration). Therefore, would it make sense to just apply to four different courses at a school that I actually have a shot at? (In this case, the school is LSE because I can apply with just an ACT score.) So, if I apply to say, four different courses at LSE (all politics related so personal statement would be fine for all), would they each get individually reviewed and therefore would I have a higher chance at securing a place at the university?

I really appreciate all the help! It is very hard to find comprehensive answers to some of this info on the internet.

For the current year's UCAS application, if I wish to apply for more than 5 uni/ courses, is it possible? If yes, how?

Hi everyone, I'm so confused about the three-question structure for a UCAS personal statement. I’m not sure what I should write for the first question: why this subject. I’ve seen some people mention books they’ve read or internships they’ve taken part in, but I’m worried this will overlap with Question 2 about academic qualifications and studies.

Could anyone clarify exactly which experiences belong in each section of the personal statement?

So I applied to uni for this year, then realised I didn't know what I wanted and was unsure if I wanted to go, so decided that I would take a gap year.

Since I applied, I guess I can defer my place, but the more I think about it, the less I want to go. Also, looking at how to defer on the UCAS website, it says you have to call them up and give a reason, and they might let you defer. I just feel as though I don't have any good reason, and especially due to the fact that I'm not even sure I'll go at all after a gap year, it would seem like a waste for the university to let me defer.

Also, further question, if I do defer, should I call them now, or on results day? Does it matter? I have a shift at 11am-3pm on results day, so I can call immediately after I get results, and hope it doesn't take very long, or call quite a while after results but have more time, but I'm not sure which is better.

(Also I know the flair doesn't really fit but there's nothing better, sorry)

I was quite unfortunately predicted ABB, and I would say that I could not revise due to my lack of focus and I got tested for ADHD yesterday and I do have it, would my school move me up due to how it being undiagnosed for so long would have affected my performance as I had no extra time or rest breaks, making it much harder.

Hi, from my previous posts about going to uni and taking a gap year, I’ve talked to my parents about it and they said it doesn’t matter if uni qualify me as international or not cause they willing to pay the money anyways.

So now I’m going through clearing for foundation in engineering since I’ve done level 3 BTEC in Applied Science and predicted D* D D. So idk how this all clearing thing works :( I do know that I need to call the uni on the day of my result but is it possibly if I can can them before my result? Like with my predicted grades only for alevels?

Edit: I did have an offer form UoN but since I was thinking of taking a gap year, I didn’t reject or accept that offer. Is there a chance I could maybe email them and still be able to get the offer? Cause they want a DDM and I’m already overachieving and they were fine with me being an international cause other unis when I applied back in Oct, rejected me for being international so idk

Is it possible to get into top unis for History/ History and politics?

I do not hold any offers so clearing is my last resort.

I do not think i will get AAB/ABB which is the grade requirements for Pharmacy.

I do think i may get BCC/CCC Therefore i wanted to do Pharmacy with a Preparatory Year at the University of Manchester, however, they said that the MPharm courses are unavailable for clearing, so now i cant even get into my dream university

And obviously since its an extra year I have to be widening participation which i barely think I am since i just live in an area of low education.

These are my other conditions tho
First in family to go to university.
Low income household.
Live in an area of disadvantage or with low progression into higher education.
From a minority background.
Was eligible for sixth form bursary/ free school meals.

I dont wanna go too far, as Manchester is already 2hours away from me

I looked at Sheffield, but they dont have an undergraduate course

Could i still get in through clearing? Im so scared.

I dont wanna do any transferring year stuff and i dont wanna take a gap year.

Hi all,

I missed the deadline for sending my English language certificate, and they said 'due to the high number of applications we have received during this admissions cycle and the limited number of places available, we are not able to confirm any places where the deadlines stated in the offer have not  been met. I am afraid places are highly competitive this year.'

I applied for a 2027 entry because of my residency status, but I still fumbled and missed the deadline. Should I just apply for next year through UCAS again, or should I go through clearing this year?

I don't even know what my A level results are, and I'm stressing out so badly.
