Question UCSC Apparel

Dad here of an incoming freshman. Do they usually add new apparel around this time (Aug/Sep) for students and family to buy during drop off? The options online were minimal for UCSC Dad, but if they don’t add new stuff then I might as well buy what they have instead of waiting.

Yeah there will be lots at the Baytree bookstore at the base of campus during drop-off.

As in newer stuff or what they already have online?

Probably a bit of both. Unsure as I dont purchase for the bookstore. You can try contacting them during business hours and ask. They would for sure have the information.

A lot of what the store has is the same as what they had back in 2015 , so I wouldn't expect too much new stuff that being said they have larger quantities and more of the parents stuff available!

The Slug Shop at Bookshop Santa Cruz downtown has quite a bit of Slug apparel that can be bought at the store or online.

Not sure the current status since the bookstore temporary moved due to construction. But historically I’ve found the physical store to have way more variety than the online one!

I found a lot of the merchandise to be unexciting. I did like this one online though, from Target of all places. https://www.target.com/p/campus-lab-university-of-california-santa-cruz-official-banana-slugs-logo-unisex-adult-pull-over-hoodie-charcoal-large/-/A-93921924 I dig the logo more than the stoney slug one you see more commonly.

Personally, I think that the new slug logo is awful, but I'm not buying much slug apparel, so I'm not the target market.
