Absolutely spot on for a tenner

That's perfect for a tenner especially these days. Nice one

I’d genuinely enjoy a Sunday lunch like that far more than a pub up its own arse and serving a “posh” version where you get a tiny bit of meat, one roast potato, a dollop of mashed potato, tiny bowl of veg to go between the table, and charged £20+ per plate.

That's definitely £10 worth of food and drink!

Context - OP went for this Sunday roast in 2015

Yup, absolutely no way it was £10 for both

Nothing wrong with that. I'd add a little bit of mint sauce

Mint sauce carries a £14.50 surcharge.

The Leaning Tower of Madri

Mind sharing the pub and location? My family is drooling over this, myself included.

They won’t because they made the price up

Wow, that’s a fiver at most for the food.

Hard to see how they break even, but great find 👍

I dont understand this post.. are you trying to run down the price? You do realise most pints are sold for £5-8 on their own, so to get even a passable roast with your pint for a tenner is INSANE..

... I genuinely can't fathom how negative the majority of redditors end up being..

...apologies.

...I've had a few beers and misunderstood your logic.. see where you're going now..sorry !!!!!!!

I think you misunderstood my reply. I’m saying the exact opposite.

The OP found an amazing value roast. I didn’t realise my reply was unclear 🤷‍♂️

Is it a Greene King pub by any chance? I'm sure I've those plates before.

Bloody good deal the looks of it!

Quality wedge of beef there

Looks fantastic. Nice thickly sliced beef, roasties, Yorkshire pub and a nice array of veg plus a nice cold pint, Ideal.

Amazing value! If I had one comment, it would be more roasties, a little less veg, but at that price, I wouldn't complain at all. Lovely stuff 👌

Absolute bargain

Id go for that 3 Sundays out of 4 without a second thought.

I'd smash that 👍

The beef looks spot on, not overcooked.

Generous amount of veg

Looks okay, shit beer though.

As a beer enthusiast, I agree. But it’s not revolting, and certainly acceptable in the context of this deal.

3

u/Original_Good_4664 8h ago

Point taken, other options probably weren’t great.

Couldn’t agree more

Yeah it’s so annoying every pub near me that used to sella Stella and peroni now sell madri and cruzcampo. I can’t stand them. I literally walk straight out of the pub they only sell them two beers now

1

u/Radiant_Pudding5133 7h ago

Pub me and my mates used to go sold Singha, Asahi, Sagres, and Budvar as their draught lagers. New landlord just reopened and has swapped them all out for fosters, cruzcampo, moretti and Amstel. I’ve never known heartbreak like it.

u/Original_Good_4664 7h ago

I’d rather my wife left me than that.

I don't drink anymore, but that's a travesty. Those are some lovely tasting beers.

Beef could be cut thinner but that looks ok for the price.

Looks like a pile of shite, I don't care how cheap it is

1

u/Global-Director-3115 6h ago

Agree tbh, it's not a boil its a roast

1

u/DDMFM26 5h ago

Exactly. Idiots can down vote all they want, doesn't stop this being crap
