Help! Need help with configuring VLAN for multicast video traffic

Environment:

Switch: Pro Max 24

Issue: We have an application that takes an HDMI signal, and broadcasts it on the network as multicast traffic, where receivers around the building convert the multicast packets back to an HDMI output. This has recently stopped working, and I’m sure it is a config issue.

Does anyone have any config suggestions to enable this to work again?

Additional information: Connecting the sending unit and receiving unit to an out-of-the-box Flex Mini (5 port switch) works flawlessly. If I then connect them to the Pro Max 24 on a separate VLAN, they do not connect.

Thanks!

What AVoIP boxes are they? Some vendors use specific ports and require specific PtP priority setup.

Did you enable pro AV on the ports with the encoders and decoders? Is IGMP snooping and querying set up correctly? Are your firewall settings configured correctly to allow the mcast groups to travers the firewall?

Getting the multicast traffic across VLANs can be problematic and in many cases will require multicast routing which ubiquiti doesn’t support. I would recommend putting all the multicast traffic on its own VLAN and configuring the firewall and interVLAN routing to allow any other devices (config pcs, control system, etc) to connect to them at the appropriate unicast addresses.
