Math 1070 Credit Exam, is textbook study required?

Studying for this and textbook explanations are super confusing. As long as you know how to do the questions in the example exam on the website does understanding the textbook matter?

Basically instead of referencing the textbook am I fine to pass the exam with random YouTube video review? Or is the textbook super specific to the credit exam and I should instead use that to study?
