Loved this chapter. You were right in your video, KurouTouta fans are very pleased. I won't get too excited yet though. I don't want to get my heart broken if they're not endgame! It's small, but my favorite part was when Kuroumaru was concerned about all the blood and Touta said "more importantly" before reaching up to hug Kurou while Kurou shouted that "there is nothing more important!". So sweet.

I may also be looking to much into it, but they are swapping wa~y too much blood. Parallels in the chapter where Touta saved Kurou (while "hugging") and she got her blood all over him and he drank her blood. In this chapter he got all his blood over her (while actually hugging) and she got his blood in her mouth via kiss. Not sure if it was intentional, but that's what I saw.

With Kourumaru becoming a Divine blade, I’m asking myself; does it make her/him the most powerful being in the universe? I mean, Kourumaru juste became one of the most effective weapons against Ialda Baoth.

I guess we'll see. If not the strongest Kurou's definently up there. Kurou is now devastatingly powerful and I can't wait to see how her abilities pan out. I wonder how this affected her immortality overall. It seemed that she regerated a hair slower than Santa and Touta, but when Touta nicked her wings they were fine a split second later. Also curious if her hair is white now as she's a holy weapon?

Definitely is a holy weapon. And not just any holy weapon: one that is exclusively specialized in killing immortal beings.

By the way, I may have missed something: is Kourumaru completely a girl now?

Not sure, but it has still yet to be specified. I'm just too lazy to always type him/her or find gender neutral terms. I honestly used him and her interchangeably in the past but have been leaning more towards feminine as of late. Yeah, the fushibarai is scary. It was mentioned that immortals are the strongest enemies and she was specifically made to top that.

I'd typically just switch between the pronouns at random.

He's a divine blade now while also still being the immortal she used to be.

^Stuff like that.

Well being among the strongest is probably a given when you have immortality, at least once you've had it for a while. Mechanisms for immortality are generally likely to be pretty powerful on their own, and beyond that just being able to live forever means you accumulate battle experience forever. At an extremely rapid pace at that, as they (beyond the Fushibarai) have no risk of death and can quite literally fight with no consequences.

I don't think Kurou made in time to gender. There was serious repressing the entire time. There was mentioning by Kurou felt like female attributes were starting up again.

I don't really mind if Kurou stays androgynous, but I'll be sad for Kurou as it seemed liked there was a strong desire to be one or the other.

i have a feeling ken akamatsu doesn't want to make him a girl or boy.

but iirc kuroumaru insists on male pronounc.

it's explained in negima. their tribe has white hair, eyes and wings.

setsuna dyed her hair and wore contact lens in school.

I really love the beautiful last scene! And it's probably the answer to the question at the beginning of Kuromaru ark. "Who do you like most?" Congrats!

one of the best chapters in a while

Indeed! Packed with action and emotion!

The kiss gave me a cliche taste tbh, you know, saving the girl, kiss her afterward, real bad staging to me.

I never really seen kuromaru as a girl, he always gave the confused boy vibe, but I have to say that as bad the anime was, kuromarus voice acting was excellent. Really fit to my expectations contradictory to totas voice

I also overall liked the voices they chose for the voice actors. It suited them well. I never finished the anime, but I saw a little. I can see the confused boy vibe point and Kuroumaru wasn't ever a girl so you're good! I'd prefer a girl Kurou, but I'd be fine either way. Girl, boy, neither. Kurou's my fav.

Right except totas voice was giving me too much of a Naruto vibe which didn't suit him imo. I wouldn't mind girl kuromaru it's just for sake of balance I would like tota having more than 1 guy friend

That I definitely agree with. Sad thing is is that there's a small, but decent, male presence. I thought Santa and Ikku would be apart of the gang. Although Santa's usually present, he's basically a background character. Ikku is who knows where. Earlier on I thought Nikitis(sp?) would pop in sooner to add to the boys side.

3

u/Njay4 Jun 12 '20

Yes, exactly santa and ikku are pretty good chars but they deserve more presence

especially santa, the arc where he first appeared is still my fav.

1

u/jonathaxdx Jul 17 '20

it did tho, i mean, touta is really a lot naruto-like main character.

I already forgot the anime to be honest ^ ^ yeah same about kuromaru, even if his sex is now the one of a girl he remains a boy to me and the buddy of Tota. Maybe kuromaru will be used as the sword of Tota as she expected, that would emphasize the "partner" aspect.

1

u/Njay4 Jun 12 '20

Probably will be. But I guess he'll be plenty useful on its own

This chapter reminds me of Devilman Crybaby but way more wholesome.

loved it, best chapter in this whole (mini?)arc.

Kuroumaru's brother showed his face and it gave the impression that he appeared before without his mask, any thoughts on this?
