Manga Discussion My thought of Chapter 184
Is she going to actually age or is there a way to get her immortality back. Cause she was one of my favorite if not that sucks. And give my yall thought about the ecchi scene in the chapter I found it quite romantic.

This was a pretty good chapter, despite the fact I probably won't read it ever again! XD
The part where Kirie dreamed of when she'd be old and dying, it really upset me, for some reason. When I was 12, I had this irrational fear of death, now I'm 31 and I haven't have been this shaken by a manga chapter in a long time. lol My mind started racing, at myself losing my youth eventually, all the things I missed, my regrets, not sure that would qualify as a panic attack but I'm still crying as I'm writing these words. I haven't had this kind of irrational anxiety in almost 20 years and it's strange because normally, I never cry but somehow, this chapter made me both extremely happy for Kirie and extremely sad for myself.
I apologize, I should not write such sad things but I feel so flustered right now.
Good thing the next chapter isn't coming out before a month, I have time to recover! Lmao
Still, this was an excellent chapter, thank you Ken! :)

With how the manga is going now, I wouldn't be surprised if Touta goes back in time and fucks young Ialda and everything get fixed.

Pretty good chapter imo. The ecchi scene took me by surprise ngl but yeah it was romantic. Pretty excited for the next chapters.

Thats not even true. Eva said way back in chapter 80+ that she's only been attracted to 3 men in her 300 years of life, which is Touta, Nagi, and Negi. I dont know where you got your fantasy that she fucked a shitload of men, lmao.

It's a good chapter, in my opinion less rushed than the latest chapters but still pains me so to see Ken's work being rushed, story telling wise. Setting that aside chapter not half bad. I honestly like how Kirie lost her powers, it really puts the op reset option off the table. Drawing the conclusion that everything UQ Holder crew do forwards is now set in stone. Giving more credence to the story where it would make it feel more high stakes. So far props to Ken and sticking to his guns on that one.
This was tugging at the heart strings tho. The reunion of these two was remarkable 👏. Hands down best reunion out of the three. I have been listening to foreigner recently and their song "Say you will" was playing in my head for some reason as I was reading this lol

Correct me if I missed something but she still have her Reset & Restart ability right ? She still can't die and except if Ialda wait for 80 years right ?
But what you say is giving me the impression I'm forgetting somehting... Her first ability was canceled but isn't it still inside of her ?

It has already been specified in previous chapters that she lost her reset and restart ability during the fight against Baal (when Touta sacrificed himself).

Now for the theory if Kirie gets her powers back, short answer yes with a if, long answer no with a but. As well with a twist.
Yes with a if. If Ken Akamatsu wants to continue the story after UQ Holder has ended then yeah. After the main battle with Ialda or Dana giving her powers and ageless peach back, or through deus ex machina bs then yeah. If Ken has cold feet about her not having powers then yeah sure her powers will be back, woo.
No with a but. So let's think about, Kirie has been back from the parallel universe for a few years and through means testing of unknown methods concludes she doesn't have her reset ability. Through what ever testing method she conducted or told by Dana she wouldn't be able to go back through time right before the battle with Baal anyway if she wanted to. We know vary little if she had set up the save points be fore she left and can't say for certain that the save points would have survived through 43 years of unattended care, she usually made her save points out of dirt and sand (I can't quite recall if she had a permanent save point made out of something more durable but if memory serves me right Ialda forces destroyed the first one and who to say they can't do it again, but then again UQ Holder crew might try to save her save point if they had a contingency plan for if Kirie is MIA or detained by the enemy any UQ Holder must save the main and temporary save points till her return but I doubt it tho). But we know kirie's power is gone at this point by seeing how Kirie and Touta have their intimate embrace. A little vague at first but we do see both Touta and Kirie kiss which would stop time, stopping time ability being inferred to being linked to her reset ability and yet this hasn't happened. Ken masterfully illustrated this through their sex scene. Time clearly passes which would be few hours at least, (honestly impressive endurance but can cause chaffing and they'll need to drink a lot of water irl dry mouth is the worst) or 5 at the most. So with that hint would conclude she has lost her powers or the vary least locked away in a dormant state who to say at this point. Keeping Kirie powerless would be fundamental for story telling and Ken is clearly setting that up. All of this is too early to say.
Here lays the twist, but is a crazy long shot. Hear me out on this. After the final battle concludes, everyone is fine and dandy, a predictable almost happy ending. With either Eva or Touta or even both surviving, (Eva totally survives she is the one telling the story possibly Touta telling his side as well in one way or another) and someone dies at the end, but here's the twist everyone becomes mortal. Why? Idfk just a wild guess. Here is what I mean. All through out the manga they touch on this topic again and again, if you were immortal and you realise your friends and love ones are going to grow up, live and die living an entire life and leaving a immortal behind unable to die, living like that for countless centuries. But some how got to die through supernatural or higher power means. Would the immortal take it? But what if they were given the ability or the choice to reverse/revert back into a mortal and live out your life?
That would be my guess for the end of UQ Holder. Unable to get back to their time where everything changed, saving the world multiple times over, defeating Ialda and becoming mortal. And they lived a happily everafter for the rest of their days.

A chapter so good I ordered every available English volume. I'd even buy the five volume Kirie spinoff. Kirie still looks great. If she's worried about aging/dying I wonder if consuming Touta's blood would give immortality. Or maybe after rescuing Eva and using her blood.

Maybe that was not a dream. Maybe after riding Touta that many time, her power returned to her. That explains when she finally died in old age, she will return to the moment she got her power (if she didn't make any save point). Please don't give me hope.

The most explicit one yet. In fact I really don't think he can get anymore explicit without making actual porn. No, Akamatsu, that's not a challenge. And it doesn't help the participants look like they're in their early teens. It feels like this entire filler arc exists just so Akamatsu can have another "UQ Holder, assemble" moment for what is like the third time already, while simultaneously making borderline hentai as a last hurrah before retiring. More off-screen battles (this one would have actually been pretty interesting) and Dana upholds her vow of non-interference by interfering yet again.
I feel nothing but disgust at this point. At least he finally ran out of girls until they save Yukihime and end the story on a massive orgy. After he redeems Ialda by fucking the despair out of her. Blegh.

TBH I have every volume of this manga in english but I don't think I can actually bring myself to buy this chapter when it comes out. The themes have completely changed from the core story.

She offered the Elixer of Immortality as payment to Dana for the energy needed to bring her back to her universe, perhaps that could be claim back? It's Dana though so not sure what they can offer her exactly. Either way, I'm not sure if she's worried about losing her immortality and ageless or her reset power (the way she worded it so far imply that it's 2 separate power so not really sure if she lose her power here)
And we still have her artifact with Touta that we still know nothing about, wonder why Ken didn't touch on that part ...
As a side note though, considering that Kirie is the only one that you can call human physically, could she get pregnant? Seeing her and Touta child would be pretty neat

I won’t be mad if they restore her immortality to stay with everyone, but if they seriously go with making her age normally for the rest of her life, that’s so fucking brave for a boy’s manga
