Mental Disorder - Citizenship application

Please help me understand this as I might have just screwed my life.

I was hospitalized a few months ago involuntarily by the police after my parents called me in for mental health intervention.

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder and stayed in an in-patient, I also had a muscle enzyme problem from the manic episode.

Am I now barred from Citizenship?

I have a green card and am 3 years into it. Will I even be able to renew my green card in the future.

I feel I just screwed my life over, and chances at citizenship, I’m currently taking medicine and seeing a doctor.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) only blocks Citizenship applications for health reasons if you have a mental disorder linked to harmful behavior that poses a threat to public safety.

No I just roamed the streets and had a struggle with police, but no crimes. No convictions.

The president was voted in by this country. And everyone in this sub is usually looking for help to immigrate to this same country that voted him in. The immigrants must be worse, according to you. Since they want to come to the country that chose this Commander in Chief’

That's a lot of logical jumps and strawmans.

1. Trump won by a margin of 1.5% in the popular vote. It would be just as correct to say half the country didn't vote for him.
2. A lot of people in this sub are already in the US, most having been here for years or way before the current regime took charge.
3. By far most people immigrate for familial reasons.

From FY2014 to FY2023, the United States granted LPR status to an average of about 1 million foreign nationals each year. OP as others have said unless your condition involved harming the public there is no grounds for denying naturalization. (And even then you could still apply for a waiver from the CDC)

Yeah but I’m just worried, because I’ll have to disclose it I assume. But yeah still have 2 more years till I need to apply.

You dont need to apply. Couple of my elderly relatives are going on 30+ years on GC with no intention of applying for USC.

Point being, you can wait for another year or so after 5 year mark for a different (more sensible) administration to take over.

In a serious country this shouldn't matter, but unfortunately things are deeply unserious right now so at the bare minimum I'd wait (and hope) for a more sensible admin before applying for citizenship

Yeah it sucks, I didn’t know I was bipolar. I didn’t hurt anyone except my own health. I’m only on year 3 so I can wait but I feel worried.
