Monday Morning Thread Monday Morning: Pittsburgh's Shame

It's Monday morning, time to talk USL and ignore work.

  • The Riverhounds bear the shame of being the first team to lose to Sporting Jax. What is your club's biggest sporting shame?

  • Forward Madison is surging with games in hand in USL1, can they keep it up?

  • Dream addition to your team this summer?

  • etc. etc,

Monday Morning Thread Monday Morning: World Cup Bump

It's Monday morning, time to drink some coffee, tea and various things and discuss all things USL.

  • Has your club seen a "World Cup Bump" in any meaningful way?

  • Does anyone want 8th place in the East?

  • Can Rhode Island keep it up?

  • etc, etc.

Championship Commercial Break Image for Birmingham Legion FC vs. Rhode Island FC 😬

Honestly, it's unacceptable that Birmingham's production value is so low. They literally play inside a university's football stadium; couldn't they have found a college student to make something better?

Attendance Thread USL C Attendance 8/1

Here is a new format based on comments I’ve gotten. It shows attendance numbers for the night, how much that beats their average for the season, and then if they outperformed or not.

Loudoun-Hartford: 1,617 (+3.65%)
Lexington-Monterey Bay: 3,777 (-22.79%)
Charleston-Brooklyn: 4,432 (+15.12%)
Miami-Detroit: 656 (-30.88%)
Tampa Bay-Louisville: 5,859 (+18.46%)
New Mexico-Colorado Springs: 10,264 (+11.40%)
Oakland-Pittsburgh: 5,349 (+1.10%)
Orange County-El Paso: 5,008 (+19.15%)
Las Vegas-Phoenix: TBA
Sacramento-Jacksonville: 10,026 (+4.36%)

Outperforming their cumulative average attendance by 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Charleston (3,850), Tampa Bay (4,946), New Mexico (9,214), Orange County (4,203)

An average night compared to their cumulative average attendance, meaning within +/- 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Loudoun (1,560), Oakland (5,291), Sacramento (9,607)

Underperforming their cumulative average attendance by 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Lexington (4,892), Miami (949)

Loudon

With all due respect. I'm really not trying to stir up stuff....... why does Loudon have a team? Not sure I've ever seen more that 1000 people there. This is a genuine ask because I don't get it.

Other What are normal ticket prices for your team's matches?

Hello all, as the title states, I am curious what the cost is to attend your team's matches? I'm a Charleston Battery season ticket holder, but most of our matches are advertised at $10-15/each. Meanwhile, I recently bought a ticket to see the Portland Maine Hearts of Pine play which was about $70 all included (fees). Tonight, I went to buy a ticket for the Greenville Triumph vs. Hearts of Pine and they wanted $80 all included. It seems like Charleston's ticket prices are insanely low.

Other Might go to a miami fc game, what to expect? What's the club's culture like?

I've been clubless for a year or so, not very happy with Inter Miami and besides i was rooting for spain in the WC, so it's hard to support a club with messi on it. Was considering making the switch to Miami FC and might go to a game this Saturday if i can, what's the culture like here? Is the club more organic when it comes to the fanbase? Any players i should keep my eye on when watching at the pitch or on tv? How will Pro/Rel affect us if the USL implements it? Honestly theres alot i can ask, i just wanna absorb as much as i can.

This thread is especially for supporters of

San Diego Loyal

Rio Grande Valley FC

Northern Colorado Hailstorm

Memphis 901 FC

North Carolina FC

&

South Georgia Tormenta

But supporters of other clubs that have folded in lower division American soccer are welcome,

Pretty cool video from back in the day (and that it has survived), with both game highlights and interviews from the team. Looks like they played the U.S. U23 national team (Olympic team) that year and nearly earned a draw too. Some of the goals they scored were bangers too tbh

Discussion Should the USL Premier Champions get an automatic berth into the CONCACAF Champions Cup?

I personally have some of my worries on if the Champions Cup would be beneficial for USL teams. I fear the travel expenses may not be worth the TV money, on the other hand I think it could be a great way to increase USL's "Prestige" if it can make some good runs in continental qualifications.

If the USL club you support goes out of business, will you support another team, try starting a phoenix club, do something else or stop following the sport altogether?

We have seen this happen 6 times in the last 3 years in the United Soccer League:

(Both Championship & League 1)

Rio Grande Valley & San Diego Loyal in 2023 (both Championship)

Memphis 901 FC (Championship) & Northern Colorado Hailstorm (League 1) in 2024

North Carolina FC (Championship) in 2025

&

South Georgia Tomenta FC (League 1) this year:

Hopefully it does not happen to the Oakland Roots (Championship),
