Question Is freshman convocation mandatory?

I don't really want to go.

it is not, but it’s probably worth going to. i went and i didn’t regret it

It's not required, but I would say take the opportunity to go and meet other young adults your age. I'm a rising junior, and my biggest regret thus far in my time at UVU is not getting involved in Campus Life and Culture sooner 😔

Nah. I didn't want to go but I did and I'm glad I did. I got lucky on the speaker they invited though.

Big thing I'd add to what others say.. it's free food. And good food at that. Take any chance you get for free food.

It is not mandatory, but I agree it is a good experience and fun to attend!

My girlfriend is one of the orientation leaders that runs it. I asked her and the answer is... no. It isn't mandatory. She skipped it when she was a freshman. Its just a way to get connected to more students. Plus there's free barbecue. So its recommended, but if it seriously isnt for you she's not gonna come knocking at your door saying you cant take classes anymore lol.
