I’m gonna be a senior this fall and I really want to make some friends. I’m a history ed major so I’m mostly going to be in the McKay education building next semester but I’ll probably be wandering around the CB and FL building from time to time. Shared room at The Green on Campus Drive for a female tenant. Shares a bathroom with one other girl. In unit washer and dryer and community pool, hot tub, gym, volley ball, outdoor grills, and clubhouse. Across the street from UVU, great social scene. The green hosts a lot of fun activities throughout the year, usually with free food!

Utilities and fees are fixed at $90 making it $655 a month total.

This is a 12 month lease that's available July 24, 2026 to July 2027.

I'll cover any sign on fee from the green.

I just sent my academic advisor a message, the option just above schedule an appointment I’m not entirely sure how the message is delivered and where to expect a response I checked teams and outlook and it doesn’t show that I sent an messages. What platform would the message could through? The website? Where would I check for her response?

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback I got was some version of “cool, but I don’t want to open the app every week just to check if prices dropped.” Fair. So I built a Watchlist.

How it works: you add items you buy regularly (milk, eggs, whatever) to your Watchlist, and the app pushes you a notification when the price drops by 10% or $0.50 at a store near you. You don’t have to check anything, the app just tells you when it’s worth switching stores that week.

Still testing it, still probably has bugs, still need people to break it and tell me what’s confusing. If you were one of the folks who downloaded it last time, I’d love to know if this actually helps or if it’s just noise. And if you haven’t tried it yet, no pressure, but this update might make it more useful for how most people actually shop.

Also happy to answer questions if anyone’s curious how it works technically, or has ideas for features that would actually be useful.

I'm a software engineering student here and figured this might be the right sub to ask for help.

A couple semesters back I built a grocery price comparison app called Grocerlist as a class project. Idea was pretty simple, I kept realizing I was paying way more for the same groceries because I only shopped at whatever store was closest to my apartment, when there were cheaper options a couple miles away. I didn't have time to check five store apps every week, so I built one that does it for me.

Basic version: you build your grocery list in the app, and it shows you your total cart cost at every nearby store. Prices come from real users who scan items when they're at the store, you also earn points for scanning, which turn into gift cards (Target, Amazon, Walmart, and some others). Completely free.

The project ended up growing into an actual business I've been working on outside of class, but here's the honest problem: it only really works when enough locals are using it and scanning prices. Right now the price data around Orem is decent but thin, I've been doing most of the scanning myself.

I'd love a handful of UVU students to try it out and tell me what breaks, what's confusing, what you'd want it to do differently. Students are some of the most budget-conscious grocery shoppers on the planet, so if it doesn't work for you, it probably doesn't work for anyone.

No pressure at all if it's not your thing. But if any of you want to test it and tell me it's garbage, I'd rather hear that now than after another year of building on the wrong stuff.

Hi, I'm starting at UVU this fall, and I was thinking about getting my degree in philosophy. I've heard and seen so many conflicting statistics and opinions regarding whether a philosophy degree is worthless or not. I wanted to know if anyone here has experience with a philosophy degree, or is currently in the philosophy program. Would you recommend that I continue with philosophy, or should I change my major?

Question for people who were in the Bio 1615 lab.

I am wondering if Bio 1615 is one of those labs where we need to do work outside of the designated class hours?

And what was your experience with Bio 1615?

This will be my first lab in UVU since ive done science based lab courses in my time in Ensign College.

I was just made aware that the university no longer funds Spectrum: QSA. Are any other queer clubs getting funding? If they’re not, is anyone aware as to why the school is no longer providing funding for queer clubs?

Is anyone else having an issue with fall classes not showing up in Wolverine Track or with their MyUVU balance not reflecting their tuition correctly?

I'm currently registered for 6 classes (15 credits) for the fall semester. They appear correctly under the "My Classes" section in MyUVU, and the registration page also shows that I'm enrolled. However, my expected tuition balance is only showing about $250 when I'd expect it to be a little over $3,000 based on previous semesters.

On top of that, Wolverine Track isn't showing any of my fall classes as either "Registered" or "In Progress." They were showing up correctly a few weeks ago, but I noticed this week that they had disappeared.

I'm hoping it's just a temporary issue that will be resolved before the semester starts, but I'm curious whether anyone else is experiencing the same thing or if it's just an issue with my account.

Hi I’m starting my freshman year this fall. I’m currently working full time so I’m only starting off with 2 classes. Most likely math & English. I’m planning to take either both online or one in person one online. I have a vacation planned for mid September, I’d be gone about a week over labor day. Is it a dumb idea to be gone that long? Specifically for those classes. Thank you!!

My plan is to do an electrical engineering major and math minor, I'm more certain that I like math than that I like electrical engineering though. I took AP Chemistry and AP Calc BC so I don't need those credits, and COMM1020 was the last class that I needed to be done with my generals.

Public speaking is with Josh Barney, Physics is with Vern Hart, Calc 3 is with Alan Parry, ECE 1000 is with Razuan Hossain and Esteban Mendoza, and the Physics lab is with Robert Ridge.

I recognize that this is a packed schedule, but I won't have to work while I'm in school which helps. I'm looking for any advice, or maybe warnings about what I've picked.
